GUEST DESIGNER - FIONA JELLIE

Hi everyone. Fiona here again with another project. I hope you are all getting time to create.

This time I wanted to use all of the scraps of 'We Run The World' Everyday Etc Filler Cards left over from my first project.

I started with cardboard from a packet of pasta. I wanted something that wasn't going to buckle. I then set about gluing the pieces of Everyday Etc Cards and stencilled tissue paper down. Again trying to use at least two pieces of the same pattern.

Once finished I added small torn pieces of the 'We Run The World' kit washi tape. Finally I glued a couple of the  Mixed Media Circle Fussy Cuts towards the top of the card.

The next step was to draw an outline of a simple body over the collage using a black pen. I also painted white gesso inside the circles. After the gesso had dried I drew simple eyes, a nose and mouth. To finish the face I used  water colours. I worked more heavily with the some colours to give some dimension to the face. One face was left white.

I then covered the background with either watercolour or watered down Flutter Colour paint.

Finally, I used a black stabilo all pencil to go over the lines of the body and around the head. I activated the pencil with a little water using a fine paint brush.

I will use these as tip ins in my journals.

Fiona :)

"Super Hero Christmas" by Rachel Dutko

Hi everybody

Today I have another share from our Christmas Day last year,
using the awesome Fair Dinkum Chrissy collection.

I created my background using sprays, and some
Colour Blast Colour Paste through a 'Mmm Pie' stencil.

I used some Everyday Etc. filler cards as my layers under my photo.
I've also added 2 Fair Dinkum Chrissy page tabs, and a paper clip
from the Fair Dinkum Chrissy kit.

I've used the cute Santa, as well as some stars, from the

I've used the 'DEC 25' from the Wood Veneer pack as my title.

I've also added several 'Kraft' sticky quotes which highlight the crazy fun
of my photo, as well as some Christmas enamel dots.

Don't forget there's only 2 more days until the release of the "Good Vibes Only" collection!

Thanks for looking
Rachel x x

Wild Sisters | Tamara Buckler

Hey Hey Ladies,

Tamara here today to share another layout with you. This one is a little different for me, a little bit minimalistic and less messy than normal.

I have been loving all the black and white backgrounds that have been getting around lately, and I really wanted to give it a go, but I didn't want to do something I haven't seen before. I flicked through our stencil designs to see if there was a pattern I could replicate freehand, and came up with the 'On the Plus Side' stencil. I used a dry, wide flat brush and some Black Mayhem Flutter Colour Paint, and painted the plus symbol in a grid pattern. I then watered down the paint and flicked it all over the paint to create the black splatters.

I love how this background turned out, and I didn't want to cover it up too much, so I decided to just create lots of layers behind my pics to add interest and texture. I scoured through all of the ranges that I had on hand to find Everyday Etc Cards that matched the colours of my daughter's swimmers. I love mixing up the collections, especially when there is a NEW COLLECTION coming out (26 Feb!!! Don't miss it!) because it feels like I am using up some of my stash to make way for new goodies.

I added a tab that from the 'hello' fussy cuts, as well as one of our Flair Buttons. I altered it using a White Tiny Sticker quote (I have used these under my pic and title as well). I have tucked in some enamel dots as well.

The title is fussy cut from a Wild Bohemian Everyday Etc Cards , and I used the rest of the fussy cut above to create a frame for it to rest upon. I added in some thickers from my stash, and I feel like this pulled in all the beautiful colours from Everyday Etc paper layers.

That's it from me today. Looking forward to sharing with you all again soon!

Big Loves,
Tam xo

# Girl Boss | Belinda Spencer

Hello!!

Belinda here today with a layout to share featuring the awesome We Run The World collection. I have gone for quite a soft look for this layout using the pretty pink and kraft coloured photo cards in the range. I was also inspired by the hexagons on a couple of the photo cards.

'# Girl Boss'

I started with my standard formula of lovely diluted Flutter Colour Paint for a watercolour effect background. Here I mixed some Raspberry Punch with Arctic White and diluted with water. I spritzed the background with water first to get some pools of liquid to assist the paint in spreading across the cardstock.

I used my hexagon nesting dies to die cut a whole lot of hexagons from the Everyday Etc Filler Photo Cards.

I chopped up the # Girl Boss die cut from the Bits & Bobs pack to make it better fit my layout.

I really love that quote which seems to suit the dodgy photo of me. I have cut it into strips and then finished the layout with a flair button, enamel dots and Sticky Quotes.

Here's what I used:

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog to check out my layout today. I hope you are feeling inspired to get creating with your own We Run The World stash.

Don't forget this little bit of awesomeness....

I am so excited for this release. I think it is my favourite collection yet.

Cheers
Belinda

I Am a Queen | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
Sue Plumb here to share another design team project with you. Today I have a mixed media scrapbook layout I created using the 'We Run the World' collection; and a selfie I took after spending the day doing demos on the Colour Blast stand at Craft Alive back in November. (I had smurf hands, even after a scrub! haha)

I knew which quote was going to be used as my feature, so started by creating a watercolour style background to match using Colour Artist Inks from Colour Blast and stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps. This defined my focal area, whilst leaving plenty of white space for the eye to rest.

I then added my quote, cut from one of the Everyday Etc cards from the 'We Run the World' collection. I also used a couple of narrow strips from one of the coordinating filler cards to define the focal line from which the rest of the layout was going to be structured. Underneath the quote, I added a torn strip from another of the filler cards; and phrase sticker from the white tiny sticky quote sheet.

I then added my photo, which I cut away from the background and then mounted on some scrap cardboard before sticking it down. I added the wood veneer crown and the this is me quote (both from the 'We Run the World' wood veneer set). I also added the note speech bubble from the Speech Bubbles 2 Photo Cut Out. (These are awesome for adding that little bit of extra personality to a page and you get several per sheet.)

Next, it was time to add something to the to of my page, as it was looking very "bottom heavy" at this stage and I wanted to balance it out. I took another strip torn from the black & white striped filler card; as well as the she is cut from one of the white sticky quotes. I paired it with the words confident and bad ass from another one of the 'We Run the World' Everyday Etc cards; and the strong wood veneer from the coordinating set. The crown sticker came from the WRTW Sticky Quotes sheet.

To finish off, I added another couple of torn strips of the black and white striped filler card along the bottom edge of my page; as well as a white sticky quote and a flair button. (This high five one I used was from set #306.)
If you have been creating with the 'We Run the World' collection, don't forget to share your creations with us in the Flutterby Inspiration HQ group - we love to see them!

And in case you didn't already know, we have a brand new collection being released on the 26th February - exciting! Check this out...

I will be back in a couple of weeks with another project to share. Until then, happy scrapping!

GUEST DESIGNER - FIONA JELLIE

Hi there peeps!! I'm back to introduce our next guest designer
FIONA JELLIE!!!!

"Hi, it's Fiona and I'm your guest design team member for February. I live in country south west Victoria with my two puppies. I feel very privileged to be able to bring you projects with my slant on them. I am not a scrapbooker instead working in mixed media and textiles.

I'm creating this spread in my altered book journal. It could be done on canvas or a paper page as well. Using the 'We Run The World' Filler Everyday Etc Cards, I tore pieces and glued them into my page with a glue stick. I tried to have colours/textures in at least two places on the page. I did the same with the stencilled tissue paper. I then used yellow
watercolour paint to paint any part of the page that hadn't been covered. I also used it on the stencilled tissue paper.
I then found a photo that I wanted to use and printed it onto photo paper. This is a photo of my mum when she was at boarding school. I cut it down to remove the background and used glue to attach it to the page.

Next I played with the Fussy Cut 'Mixed Media Circles'. I glued blue tissue to the back of some of them.I then layered them to create a hat. After gluing them down I used a black pen to draw around each ring, doodle around the outside and inside the circles where the background was showing through. As a finishing touch I added a flair button from the 'We Run The World' at the top.
Now it's time to work on the blazer! Whilst I was deciding what to do, I cut the 'Tropical' Snippet Strips and it came to me! This piece was about how Mum cares for and what she wants for her children, and now, grown up grandchildren. I used double sided tape to stick the phrases in a pleasing arrangement. Again, I used the black pen to draw around each one.
At this point I decided I wasn't happy with the background. It was too bold and taking too much attention from the figure. I lightly spread white gesso with a spatula to tone it down.
A dab of a pink cream on the lips and cheeks and mum is finished. By the way, I think I'm a little excited about seeing the musical ‘Pricilla, Queen of the Desert’, in the coming weeks….Does it show?"

I'll be back later this month with some more super creations from Fiona :)

Big love, Neet x

You Rock - Allara Bamforth

Hello!

I'm up on the blog again today with a mish mash of fabulous Flutterby Goodies for a page I created with a photo from a recent concert I attended at Roche Estate in the Hunter Valley to see the band LIVE . It was their renuion tour and I have seen them plenty of times over the last 20 years and they were still fantastic as ever. The rain didn't dampen our spirits - especially after a couple of Canadian Clubs :) I love this photo of my brother, husband and son in their rain ponchos (they look like Teletubbies).

Products I have used in this layout from Flutterby Designs and the link to them are as follows:

Flutter Colur Paint - Bahama Blue and Aquamarine Dream
We Run the World 12x12 Paper - Beyonce
Everyday Etc Filler Cards - Flawsome
X-treme Teen Tickets
Flawsome Die-cuts Bibs and Bobs
Flawsome page tabs
Wood Veneer Bits
Blackboard Sticky Quick Quotes

Thanks for stopping by the blog. Make sure you stop by the shop and stock up on some fabulous goodies.

Till next post,

Allara xx

White Christmas - Rachel Dutko

Hi Flutterby peeps!

Today I have a page celebrating a Christmas tradition
between my sister and I - our favourite summer wine
from right here in the Barossa Valley.

I started by flicking through the 'Fair Dinkum Chrissy' Everyday Etc filler cards pack
and pulling out all the pink, silver and aqua cards to build my layers.

I was inspired to build my layout around the quote from the cut apart
from 'Fair Dinkum Chrissy' Frame 49.

I added several quotes and shapes from the 'Fair Dinkum Chrissy' Wood Veneer Bits.
I kept them raw to match the wood grain of the 'Dear Santa please bring wine'
flair button (from 'Fair Dinkum Chrissy' Flair Buttons Set 2).

I added some silver stars from the 'Fair Dinkum Chrissy'
Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack.
I also added some 'ghost' stars by tracing through the
'Stargazed' stencil with a silver gel pen around the page.

I finished my page by adding some splatters in different shades of pink.

Thanks for looking
