Boss Girl ll Chrissi Mannix

Hello Lovelies,
Today I'm scrapping some pics of my gorgeous niece, and what better collection, for this strong willed, sassy princess, than the We run The World Collection. I love being able to use this collection.
My niece is a very strong willed, sassy, adorable little princess, with one hell of a personality. This collection couldn't be more perfect to scrap some of her sassier moments lol. I scrap her pictures in 8.5x11 which has been a challenge for me over the year, but I'm getting better. I start with smaller photos, and I find this helps me with real estate on the page. Makes it easier to use the Every Day Etc Cards Filler Cards to layer aswell-which I love to do.
Because I cant help but add some bright colour and mixed media to my page, I applied a base of hot pink paint to my background, and then used some white paint to add some random paint lines and add texture and interest. The pink really makes everything else pop.
I adore using the Every day Etc Cards for titles and embellishments on my pages. The awesome quotes are always fun for sassy titles. The die cut pieces have some great embellishments, and i found this awesome crown that embellished my photo perfectly. I feel like it really made the whole page pop, and brought out the sassy in this photo. I love how this age turned out- I hope you do too.
Happy Scraping, I'll be back soon

One of a Kind || Elisa Ablett

Hi Flutterby Fans,

Elisa here from the design team with my latest creation for you along with a step by step on how I created my background and tips on using the Art Foamies stamps.

Before we start the tutorial, lets take a quick look at some of the products I used to create with from the Flutterby Shop, a few bits and pieces from past kits as well.

So lets take a look at how I created the background -

Using a palette knife, spread black gesso or thick black paint over the left and right hand sides of your background paper. Let it dry or heat dry.

Use a brayer and a craft mat to 'load' up your art foamies stamp, i find the paint goes on smoother and you get a better print. This is also a great way to add more than one colour at once!

Dry each layer and each colour before you add your next lot of stamping. Add a lighter contrasting colour over the top and then bring that out onto your background paper as well.

I only wanted to add a small amount of yellow to the page so I only added colour to a small portion of the stamp and also used my 'clean' palette knife to spread it along the edges of my paper a bit as well.

Add some cool white stripes to your page using the edge of your ruler. Add white paint to your craft messy mat, spread it out using a palette knife and then dip your ruler into the white and 'stamp' onto your page, keep stamping until you have the lines and effect you want.

Add smears or splatters of white paint to your page using your finger, and splatters with a fan brush.

Using the palette knife again, spread pink paint through the Little Big Love Flutterby Stencil as shown in the photo above. The let dry before you add anything else. Once dry, tear strips of gold washi tape from a past kit and add to your background then stick your desired strips and stickers over the top.

Layer Filler Cards under your chosen photo, I chose bright and funky filler cards to match my background.

Stick down your photo cluster and then add your title ! I outlined my photo in black pen to make it stand out a bit more.

Here are some close ups :-)

I hope to see your creations using my background technique.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, make sure you leave me some love!

Hugs

Life is always fun with you | Tamara Buckler

Hello Flutterby Friends,

I'm back again to share a new layout with you today. I've given my unicorn filled creations of the last few weeks a bit of a rest because I thought you might be a bit sick of me! Instead I've mixed the awesome Magical AF collection back with some older bits and pieces just to show you how versatile it really is.

I started this page with an awesome Geometric Cut File from Cut to You which had nice open spaces to showcase some of the 12x12 paper from both the Magical AF collection and the We Are collection - I used 'The Sky is the Limit', 'Weathered Love', and 'Unconditional' papers. I love how the Cut File left space around the edge to use a border of the 'Sky is the Limit' paper.

I have added some paper layers behind my photo with paper scraps from the 12x12 papers, as well as pieces from random Everyday Etc Cards. I didn't want to add too many fussy embellishements at this point, so decided to dip into my wood veneer collection - I think most of these are from the Flawsome pack.  I altered these, as I felt there were a little too many timber/brown elements already, by rubbing white Posca Pen around the edges and then smudging this paint across the piece with a baby wipe. I love the whitewashed feeling this gives.

To create my title, I mixed some Die Cut Bits & Bobs and some White Sticky Alphas. The 'always' and 'you' weren't the right colours for my page, so I altered these again with a Posca Pen, and did the same with some Die Cut hearts to carry the black up the page.

To finish off the page, I added a Die Cut from the 'We run the World' collection, a Flair Button and some white Flutterby Colour Paint splatters.

This page was pretty simple, but I love the high impact geographic style that showcases the beautiful Flutterby papers.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Big Loves,
Tam xo

Bad Ass Beautiful Misfit | Tamara Buckler

Hello Flutterby Friends,

I'm back again today to share with you another fun stash busting layout. I managed to grab some beautiful late afternoon pics with my girls, and the light was just divine! I really wanted to play that up in this layout by keeping my palette fairly neutral but with pops of the mustard yellow in the sunset.

I started by digging through my stash to find some elements that would work with that plan. I found the title elements first and decided that they would work stacked together - this lead me to decide to run all of the elements down one side of the page. I applied gesso to my Kraft cardstock, covering about half the page. Once this was dry I randomly applied some stamps from my stash for added texture and contrast.

I then began to build my photo stack. I added some tissue paper directly behind my photo, and then layered in some various Everyday Etc Cards in mustard and white. I then added a piece of the "Connie" 12 x 12 from the We Run the World collection (I love this paper, and I will use EVERY scrap!). Between all these layers I added some cardboard and double sided foam tape for added dimension.

I added in the "Remember This" Fussy Cut from the Kraft Pack to the left of my photo stack and the "High Five" page tab from the Blank Palette Sheet. I added a Charms Creations black denim arrow, and mustard coloured Flair Button, which I altered using the White Tiny Sticky Quotes

I think the title is my favourite part of this layout. I used some alpha stamps from my stash for the 'You are A', and then used some words cut out of Everyday Etc Cards, and the 'Beautiful' Die Cut from the Flawsome Die Cut pack to complete this title. I love mixing alphas, and really feel like this pops of the page.

To finish off the page, I added in a few more die cuts, some enamel dots, some scribbling and splatters in black. I grunged everything up with a bit more black ink, and even distressed the right had side of the page for a bit more interest.

Thanks for stopping by today to check this page out!

We have had some exciting news this week that Anita has a new range ready for us - to be launched on Friday 16/11 - make sure you jump over to the event on Facebook so that you get your hands on the goodies. I cant wait to share with you my layouts using this new range!!

Until then, Big Loves...

This is Me | Allara Bamforth

Good Morning,

Hope you are having a great weekend! I'm up on the blog today featuring one of Flutterby Designs new stencils "This is Me"

On my background piece I've used some transparent gel medium through the stencil as I wanted to add some inks over the top when dry. I wasn't looking for a real crisp look for the words but rather soemthing faded. I did however want to highlight the This is Me title and after it dried, I traced around it with a black marker.

I created a blended water colour effect across the background using my distress oxide inks with colours Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry. And using some of the left over to make some splatters and my Flutter Colur Artic White paint as well.

Next I traced a large cirle on the background with some markers and used a black distress crayon so I could make it watercolour as well.  For the random circles across the page, I've cut these from the We Run the World Collection  12 x 12 "Bev' paper.

To mount my photo I've used the We Run the World Everyday Etc Filler Cards, creating a stack and also creating some wings.

The circle behind my daughters head is an offcut from the 'Mrs Smith' from the same collection.  I thin added som Page Tabs and a title from the We Run the World Everyday Etc Cards.

Last but not least I've added some of the Bold - Enamel dots to finish off the page.

Thanks for checking the blog out again this week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Shine Bright Beautiful | Tamara Buckler

Hello Flutterby peeps,

I'm so happy to be back with you to share my latest layout featuring lots of messy mixed media and a heap of Flutterby goodies.

The colours for this layout were inspired by the outfit my daughter is wearing - I really wanted to pull out the mustard and pink.

I also felt that I wanted to have a contrast for these two main colours, so added in some Grey Texture Paste. I did this by mixing Black Mayhem Flutter Colour Paint to my Texture Paste, which I then ran through the 'Words of Wisdom 2,0' stencil (on clearance in the shop, btw!) Once this was dry, I watered down some Orange Goldfish and Raspberry Punch Flutter Colour Paint, and used the packaging technique to apply this to my page. I also added grey splatters by mixing Black Mayhem and Arctic White with some water, and flicking it on the page with my brush.

I used tissue paper, cardboard, and plasterers tape in between and behind various layers of Everyday Etc Cards -  a lot of these were from the 'We Run the World' collection.  I also added to these layers one of the piece from the 'Hello' fussy cuts set.

To create my title I fussy cut "Shine Bright" from the 'Wild Bohemian' Everyday Etc Photo Cards, and then added "beautiful" from the 'Flawsome' wood veneers, which I painted white.

I am in love with all this texture and dimension!!

To balance off my title, I added another piece that I fussy cut from the 'Wild Bohemian' Everyday Etc Photo Card, which I tucked in with a Charms Creations Heart and a Flair Button that has been in my stash forever!

To complete the page, I added in some Snippet Strips from the Monochrome Set, which I anchored to the page with some pieces that I cut from the centre of the Fussy Cut piece (I've tucked this in a few other places too). I also added in a Wood Veneer heart which I painted with the a coat of Arctic White then a coat of Orange Goldfish Flutter Colour Paint - this just makes the colour more punchy on top of the wood veneer.

I'm super happy with how this page turned out! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Think of Yourself | Tamara Buckler

Hello Flutterby Friends,

Aren't you lucky, you get two layouts from me this week! This one was inspired by the beautiful 'Sami' paper from the We Run the World 12x12 paper pack. My youngest daughter is crazy about anything "Galaxy" at the moment, and this paper gave me those feels. I decided to recreate that feeling on some black card stock and this is what I come up with..

I had fussy cut this photo out for another project, but it didn't work over there. Luckily the colours of the pic worked perfectly with the 'Sami' paper and I love the way it jumps off the page here. To ground the picture though, I ran some texture paste through the new 'This is Me' stencil across the bottom half of the page, and then added some Gesso and Flutter Colour Paint to mask an area behind the photo.

To create the title for the page, I fussy cut a phrase from a Flawsome Everyday Etc Card. I backed each line with some white cardstock and popped it up on foam tape to separate it from the busy background.

With all of this going on, the page didn't need much embellishing, so I added in a Flair Button, which I altered to suit the page with some White Tiny Sticky Quotes. I then finished off the page with a few fussy cut elements, and it was done!

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you've enjoyed my page!

She Stood in the Storm by Allara Bamforth

Happy Tuesday!

I'm back on the blog today with a stash busting layout using lots of pretty pastel colours! Although I scrapbook to preserve memories of my beautiful family, I also tend to produce layouts that kind of reflect life decisions that are currently happening in my life. This layout happened to turn into one of those moments where the creative process helped me make some important career decisions which presented themselves last week!

For this layout I've used the beautiful 'Sporadic Romantic' 12x12 paper from the Happily Ever After Collection and cut an angled shape for the left hand side of my page and then cut out some of the gorgeous flower designs from the page to mount underneath my photo stack. Then using three matching colours of oxide inks, I've splattered these over the white cardstock base and the cut out pieces.

Using one of the quotes 'She stood in the storm', that I based the page on from the We Run the World collection Everday Etc Cards , I've stacked it with  more Every day etc Filler cards mostly from We Run the World but some offcuts from some of the other fab collections. I then tucked in some muslin in behind the photos stack to add some softness and texture.

To the top left of the photo stack I've added a photo tab from the We Run the World collection.  Then to the top of the quote I've added a couple of 'White' Tiny Sticky quotes and then the 'Always' die cuts from the 'Mad about You' collection. To the right of the quote I've added an oldie but goodie Flair Button from the amazing collection of Flair Buttons which are on the website (if you haven't checked out the full collection for a while - you really should!).

Q
And there we have the finished layout. Not a lot of mixed media this time around, as I really wanted the beautiful paper and important message to shine.

Thanks for taking a peek.

Till next post,

Allara xx

Little Girls with Dreams become Women with Vision | Tamara Buckler

Hi All,

I'm back on the blog today to share with you a layout I created using some of the beautiful 12x12 paper from the We run the World Collection. The beautiful blue striped paper "Mrs Smith" was perfect for to document photos of my daughter and her netball friends at the recent State Champs that we attended.

I started this page by applying some modelling paste through the "Flawsome" stencil roughly in the centre of the page. I matted my pics with some patterned paper that I had laying around, and then began tucking some Everyday Etc Cards from We Run the World behind my photos. I also found various frames in Die Cut Bits and Bobs pack from the Flawsome collection to tuck behind the pictures. I ran a strip of the "Bev" paper from the 12x12 pack across the bottom of my photos to anchor them to the page.

Whilst I was looking through the Everyday Etc Cards, I found the "Little Girls with Dreams" quote, and new this was perfect for my title. The word 'dreams' was pink, but I used a sharpie to make it black to better suit my colour scheme. I built the cluster to the left of my pictures to highlight this phrase. I tucked in a Flair Button from the Extreme Teen collection, as well as a star from Charm's Creations.

I fussy cut some words and phrases from the Everyday Etc Cards to emphasize the strengths of our amazing netballers, and tucked these around the page. I also added quite a few die cut hearts from a number of different ranges to tie all the blue pieces on the layout together.

To finish the page off I added some black splatters, and some twine and it was done! Super easy and I really love the result.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Big Loves,
Tam x
