GUEST DESIGNER - AMY LANE

Amy is back with another share. We've loved having you guesting for us Amy <3

Here's Amy to tell you how she created her layout :)

I started with what photos I was going to use for this spread and laid them accordingly. Then I went through the 'We Run The World' Everyday Etc Cards and picked out the ones that suited the theme I was going with for this spread- my beautiful strong girl.

I choose 1 to use as part of my title cards- 'beautiful' and then using a piece of patterned paper created the 2nd card for the title.

Using some Thickers from stash, Flutterby Designs 'Wheel' wood veneer and the phrase 'never grow up' from the Snippet Strips, I created my title cards.

I then used some of the 3x4 Everyday Etc Cards to embellish my photos and use as filler cards. I also used flairs from the 'We Run The World' collection, washi strips and a few Page Tabs from the 'We Run The World' collection to also embellish the photos a little.

I have also used some glitter hearts and rhinestones from my stash to add some sparkle to the spread.

Here is a process video for this spread, so grab a cuppa
& enjoy...

Thanks for playing with Flutterby Designs Amy,
We've loved having you MWAH x

Strong, Empowered, Beautiful, Loved - Allara Bamforth

Good Morning!

I'm back on the blog today with a new design from the 'We run the World Collection' using my most favourite papers 'Mr and Mrs Smith' and 'Frida'. I've added a photo this time of my daughter Mak - who loves super heroes, anything Marvel and Doc Martens in no particular order. She is one of the strongest people I know and doesn't take an ounce of what anyone says to her. I felt this layout respresented her kind and compassionate side whilst still maintaining her strength of character - totally what 'We run the World' collection is all about.

I have started off with using the 'Shake your tail Feather' Stencil with Mutli Medium Transparent Gloss mixed with the 'Stormy Grey' Flutter Paint. Next I splattered around some 'Artic White' Flutter Paint. Using my neglected die's - I cut out some hexagon shapes in various sizes mostly out of the 'Mr and Mrs Smith' Paper but also a few from the 'We run the World Everday day etc' cards. Also used these cards for a couple embellishments.

I painted up a 'Wheel' Wood veneer in the 'Stormy Grey' and a couple of hearts, added a flair button from the 'We run the World Flair Buttons Set 1'. I also used some circles from the 'Mixed Media Circles' Fussy Cuts. Finished off with cheescloth from my stash and a few silver sequins dotted with some liquid pearls.

I added a final splattering of Stormy Grey to finish off. These collections are so fun to mix and match - as everything co-ordinates so well.

Thanks for having a peek and I welcome feedback anytime.

Till next post,

Allara xx

"Radmas" by Rachel Dutko

Hi everyone!

Rachel back with you today sharing a Christmas layout,
using the awesome Fair Dinkum Chrissy range.

I created my background with some sprays and some black texture paste
through a 'Sugar Sprinkles' stencil. I also added some stamping with a red gelato,
and some roller stamps randomly around the page.
I also added some black splatters.

I've layered up some of the Everyday Etc Filler cards under my photo.
I cut out the polaroid frames from the
'Die Cut Bits and Bobs' pack to accent my photos.

I've used the word 'christmas' from the Wood Veneers Bits
as my title, colouring it black.

I've added a few more pieces from the 'Die Cut Bits & Bobs' pack.
How perfect is the 'Ripper Christmas' flair?! Love those sunnies!

I've also used some Christmas Enamel Dots, a page tab
a Sticky Snippet and a couple of Snippet Strips words.

Thanks for looking

Unleash Your Inner Awesome | Tamara Buckler

Hey Hey Flutterby Peeps!

Happy Monday, I hope you all had a fab weekend and managed to squeeze in some scrappy time. Today I'm here to share with a layout using a mixed bag of Flutterby products. I have to say it is a real credit to Anita that all of her ranges work so well together, it makes using up your stash so easy and enjoyable!

I actually started this layout by choosing my photo, which is not always something that I do. For some reason this pic makes me sing 'you spin my head right round, right round' and this became the inspiration for the circles in the background. I traced in pencil around various round objects to get the lines, and then went all scratchy and doodley with a sharpie. To add the colour, I watered down some FlutterColour paint in Grape Soda, Raspberry Punch and Tropicana Teal, and used the packaging technique to roughly add them around the circle pattern.

This colour combo came from the Everyday Etc Card 'Unleash your inner Awesome' from the Creative Chaos range, as I new I wanted this to be my title. This also inspired the small triangles that run around the circle as the background of this card features triangles. I cut these by hand, and glued them down in the areas of corresponding colour. The photo is matted with more Everyday Etc Cards from various ranges, but still sticking to these 3 main colours.

The main embellishment cluster to the left of the photo features a saying from another Everyday Etc Card in the Creative Chaos collection, which I fussy cut off the card. The cluster is backed by a frame from the 'Mad About You' Everyday Etc Cards, and features a Flair Button from the Sentence Enhancer range.

I was also able to include some Page Tabs from the Fur-ever Friends collection. This was a total win, because we aren't cat people, but this pic is of my daughter getting ready to play the Cheshire Cat, so 'Crazy Cat Lady' worked perfectly!

I added a second cluster to the top right of my circles, using a White Sticky Quote, a Flawsome Die Cut and some enamel dots, in order to balance off the page, and with that it was done!

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my layout. Let me know if you have any questions about creating this background, it was a fun one!!

Big Loves

Beautiful | Belinda Spencer

Hello Flutterby Designs peeps!

Belinda back again to share another layout for the month featuring the completely fabulous 'We Run The World' collection.

I love this collection so much and especially that it represents strong women. So of course I had to use a photo of the fierce, kind and beautiful small female child that I am lucky enough to call my daughter.

'Beautiful'

How gorgeous is that background paper?!!! I think it is my absolute favourite of the brand new 12 x 12 papers. The design is so good.

I started by squirting some Tropicana Teal paint over the 'Connie' paper and then swooshed it around with a palette knife until I had enough coverage.

I played around with some of the Filler Photo Cards to create some layers under my photo.

I added a sweet cluster of embellishments including an awesome flair button, a heart fussy cut from the Connie paper and a Charm's Creations black and white heavenly heart.

I used the acrylic word 'beautiful' as a mask to create my title. I held the word in place carefully with my fingers on a piece of white cardstock while I used a latex make-up wedge to blot the Tropicana Teal paint around it. Check out this progress shot.

I have to admit that when I took the mask away there was a little paint bleeding so I used a white Posca paint pen to tidy up and colour the whole word. I then placed the acrylic word back over the top and used a fine black pen to create a black outline. Finally I fussy cut the whole thing with just a small teal border.

Of course I had to add a bunch of page tabs and snippet strips too.

Here's what I used:

- 'beautiful' acrylic word
- Die Cut Bits & Bobs
- Everyday Etc Filler Photo Cards
- Flair Buttons Set 1

Well that is all from me today. Make sure you head over to the shop to grab yourself some of the stunning 'Limited Edition' 12 x 12 patterned papers before they run out.

Cheers
Belinda

I am a Girl | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
Sue Plumb here, and it's time for another design team project share from me. I am still loving the recently released 'We Run the World' collection and couldn't resist creating another page with it. I had these fun Snap Chat selfies and thought they would work perfectly with this range. Instead of my usual messy mixed media however, I was instead drawn to create a more graphic style page. (Yes I know, it shocked me too!)

As you can see my page design features lots of straight lines, colour blocks and clean, white space. (OK, so there is a bit of a splash of mixed media, but it's very minimal.)
Besides the photos, my main inspiration for this page was the I am a girl piece I used for my title. It was fussy cut from one of the 'We Run the World' Everyday Etc cards and I was really drawn to the brush stroke behind it.

I then pulled out the we run the world title card from the same pack, and fussy cut the words from it as well. Next, I sorted through the coordinating filler card pack and started pulling pieces that I thought would work well together. After that, it was simply a matter of shuffling pieces around my page until I was happy with the placement before I started sticking them down.

Once my photos and paper pieces were in place, I added some scrap cardboard under my photos and the we run the world phrase before using a small amount of liquid adhesive to stick it all down.
Then it was time to add some embellishments. I wanted to layer some of the key words from the collection around my page on top of my paper strips.

At the top of the page I used the strong die cut from the Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack, which I mounted up using some foam tape to give it a little dimension. I also used the fierce from the Wood Veneer Bits sheet (which I coloured white using a Posca pen); and an opaque acetate brave word.

On the small square in the top right of my page, I added one of the flair buttons from the 'We Run the World' set #1; and a small heart from the die cuts pack. I also added a larger die cut heart to the square on the bottom right of my page.

I used the empowered sticker from the 'We Run the World' Sticky Quotes sheet; along with a small heart. At the bottom of my page on top of the brick wall paper, I added the we can rock the world sticker from the same sheet.

To finish off my page, I couldn't resist a tiny amount of messy media. I used some watercolour pencils to add a couple of organic scribbles, which I then went over with a waterbrush to blend the colour out slightly. I also used a Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Cube to add a small splash of green on the right side of my page, and some tiny splatters around as well.

I was really happy with how this page turned out, and the fact I had used a different style. (And quite impressed with my ability to show restraint for a change! haha)

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this with you. I will be back again soon with another project. Until then, happy scrapping!

GUEST DESIGNER - AMY LANE

We've got 3 Guest Designers over the next 3 months, showcasing Flutterby Designs products.
Today we have the first share from...
AMY LANE

Here's Amy to explain what she has created :)

For my project I used the he said, she said stencil with a gelato smooshed into the texture paste, to create my background.

I then decided to use some of the 'We Run The World' Everyday Etc Cards to fill in the grid places after working out what photos I was using. I did cut them down to size to fit on the page to make it look balanced.

I mounted some of the Everyday Etc Cards onto craft foam to give it some height & create some visual interest on the page.

Using the some of the washi tape from the 'We Run The World' kit, Snippet Strips & flair buttons, I embellished my page. I also created a tag for the middle of my page using
one of the Everyday Etc Cards.

Here's a process video too :)

Amy will be back later this month with another share

Be Brave - Allara Bamforth

Hi everyone,

Very excited to be bringing you my first blog post for the Flutterby Team and excited to be included with such an awesome group of creative women.

My post today is brought you from the fabulous We Run the World Collection using the 'Connie Paper' and a few of the cards, circles, female and male stencil, flutterby paint, wood veneers and flair. I have used some embossing powder as well on the wood veneers.

My eldest daughter recently moved out - back to the Central Coast and it has been quite an eye opening and challenging month for her in such a short amount of time but she has always been fiercly independent and headstrong. I have found myself giving her the same advice as what I've included on the layout but I think those qualities have helped her overcome some unpleasant situations. This is what this collection is all about and I love the empowering messages you can use in We Run the World.

Till next post,

Allara x

Love, Its The Little Things, by Rachel Dutko

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to bring you my first post for Flutterby Designs!

I created the background by cutting some strips from some
'Super Cool' Everyday Etc Cards and inking the edges.
I also matted my photo with some more cards from this set.

I have added a 'you're awesome' page tab (from Bright Notes 1
and a 'love our life' Kraft tab.

I fussy cut the word 'LOVE' and the sneaker from more 'Super Cool' Everyday Etc Cards.
Also in this cluster is a 'That's My Boy' Flair Button (from Set 149),
an 'everyday captured' ticket (from the 'Bright' set), and a sticky snippet sticker.

I also added some hot pink embellishments and muslin for some contrast.
Who says who can't add hot pink to a boy's layout??!!)

I finished off my page with some ink splatters and some Enamel Dots - Bold.

Thanks for looking
