Just a Bit Crazy ll Chrissi Mannix

Hello Lovelies,
Welcome to the blog, My turn to share with you today.

Last week I was lucky enough to be at the Flutterby Designs "Create by the Lake" Retreat. It was my first year, and if you ever have the chance to go, totally do it. Anita puts on a kick ass retreat, and seeing as its my first post back, I thought I'd scrap a pic from retreat, and use a little technique I learnt from one of  Neet's classes- again, if you ever have the chance, do one of  Neet's classes, so good.

In Anita's class, she showed us how to make an awesome mixed media background to use in various projects. I loved the technique so much, I wanted to turn it into a layout. Starting with blobs of  my Flutter Colour Paints on some cardstock, I rolled it our with my brayer. Adding more paint and colour untill I was happy with the background. Then to add a pop of white, I literally just threw my paint over my layout. Took a little to dry, but so worth the result.
Too add some more interest to my page, I added some modeling paste through the Flawsome Stencil. You don't end up seeing much of it, but it just adds something to the page. I then matted my photo on some of the Every Day Etc Filler Cards
As I  have done before, I also used the Every Day Etc Cards as my title. I love fussy cutting these to use as titles and embellishments. I added some tiny alphas and some stamping to finish my title.
This layout was alot of fun to do, and I loved the process. If you want to see the process, check out the video in the link.
Thanks for stopping by

Live Love Laugh | Tamara Buckler

Hello to all my beautiful lovely Flutterby Friends,

I'm very sad to say that I'm on the blog today with my last share as a Flutterby Design Team member. It has been a blast over the last few years, but unfortunately life has got in the way a little bit this year and I just cant keep up with my creative commitments.

So, today I am going out with a bang and sharing with you a series of art works I created for the charity auction hosted at the recent Create By The Lake retreat.

To start the canvasses, I prepped them with gesso and then painted the outer edges with black FlutterColour paint. I applied random bits from magazines and books to the canvas using mod podge, attempting the photo transfer technique, which worked with various degrees of success.  I also adhered random bits of Cut Files from Cut to You, and this worked well to add texture and interest.

Over the top of all this I started to apply various paints including some FlutterColour paints, working from the outside in. I then applied some paint through various Flutterby stencils, for added interest and focus. Over the top of all this I added various splatters, doodles and dribbles.

To create the focal words, I used the Large Alpha Set Stencil, and outlined the letters just using a sharpie, and then highlighted with posca pens and paints.

I was very nervous about contributing these art works to the auction, as I have never done anything like that before. I am super pleased to say they sold, and the lucky winner was none other than our boss lady Anita. So pleased that these will be getting lots of love at her place!

Thanks so much for your support and love over the years! I'm sure I will still be hanging around soaking up all the inspiration, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for the Flutterby crew.

Biggest Loves,
Tam xo

Embrace Today || Elisa Ablett

 Hi Everyone,

Happy Friyay!!! 😁😁

My turn up on the blog today with my latest layout featuring Art Foamies, I am in total love with these stamps, there are new designs available soon in the Flutterby Shop so don't miss out..

So while I was at the Flutterby Retreat last weekend and had the whole Flutterby shop to browse thru, I snagged a few (ok...a lot) of Flutterby goodies some really new and some older pieces. There is nothing like raiding your stash to go with your new goodies to make your layout work.

Let's take a look at some of the other products used to create this layout.

To balance the layout, I used teal accents in my layering under the photos and also layered underneath the fussy cut star. I left my wood veneer mostly raw except for a few stars which i painted black.

In keeping with my layout design I stamped my Art Foamies off the side of the yellow paper, 'Sunshine' from the Flawsome collection. This allowed for my title to go on the side as well, i think it draws the eye to the photos.

Everyday Filler Cards for the win! great for layering and matching with your background and your accents.

Add a few enamel dots to tie the whole thing together and a few accents in black.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today,

Hugs

Loved Crazy | Allara Bamforth

Hello there!

I'm back on the blog today with another layout featuring the 'Art Foamie' Stamps as my background.

On my black cardstock I have used the 'Fill It In' Trio and stamped the crosses and tyre tracks in Artic white paint haphazardly over the right side. Once dry, I've sponged some Aquamarine Dream over the top through the Knucklehead stncil. Mixing some of the left over paint with water, I've splattered this around where I planned to put my photo.

Next I've stamped the noughts and crosses art foamie with Perfect Medium in random spots and over the this I've used gold Perfect Pearls for a reallly cool shimmer. Once dry I've taken the Sunshine Yellow paint and swirled it around where I planned to place the photo.

For matting my photo I've used various Everyday Etc Filler Cards, Everyday Etc cards and Flair Button from the Flawsome range. The crazy sticker was taken from the We Are Family range and the Sticky Qutoes from the 'Magical AF' Range.

I love how this page ended up coming together! As usual I don't really have a plan I start a back ground then go through my stash and phtoos and start pulling matching bits together. I love how you can do this with the entire Flutterby Range.

Thanks for taking a peek!

I'm using the We Are collection to create my bright and fun page.

I created a background using some Flutter Colour Paint
in Tropicana Teal and Arctic White.

I added some bright We Are Everyday Etc filler cards under my photos.
I added some foam between a few of the layers to add some
dimension and lift the bright colours up off the black background.

I fussy cut the word 'family' from a We Are Everyday Etc card
I added some cardboard under my title word to create another layer.

I added some stickers, page tabs, a flair button, and some bright enamel dots.

I added some embellishments from Charm's Creations
and some white thread.

Boss Girl ll Chrissi Mannix

Hello Lovelies,
Today I'm scrapping some pics of my gorgeous niece, and what better collection, for this strong willed, sassy princess, than the We run The World Collection. I love being able to use this collection.
My niece is a very strong willed, sassy, adorable little princess, with one hell of a personality. This collection couldn't be more perfect to scrap some of her sassier moments lol. I scrap her pictures in 8.5x11 which has been a challenge for me over the year, but I'm getting better. I start with smaller photos, and I find this helps me with real estate on the page. Makes it easier to use the Every Day Etc Cards Filler Cards to layer aswell-which I love to do.
Because I cant help but add some bright colour and mixed media to my page, I applied a base of hot pink paint to my background, and then used some white paint to add some random paint lines and add texture and interest. The pink really makes everything else pop.
I adore using the Every day Etc Cards for titles and embellishments on my pages. The awesome quotes are always fun for sassy titles. The die cut pieces have some great embellishments, and i found this awesome crown that embellished my photo perfectly. I feel like it really made the whole page pop, and brought out the sassy in this photo. I love how this age turned out- I hope you do too.
Happy Scraping, I'll be back soon

One of a Kind || Elisa Ablett

Hi Flutterby Fans,

Elisa here from the design team with my latest creation for you along with a step by step on how I created my background and tips on using the Art Foamies stamps.

Before we start the tutorial, lets take a quick look at some of the products I used to create with from the Flutterby Shop, a few bits and pieces from past kits as well.

So lets take a look at how I created the background -

Using a palette knife, spread black gesso or thick black paint over the left and right hand sides of your background paper. Let it dry or heat dry.

Use a brayer and a craft mat to 'load' up your art foamies stamp, i find the paint goes on smoother and you get a better print. This is also a great way to add more than one colour at once!

Dry each layer and each colour before you add your next lot of stamping. Add a lighter contrasting colour over the top and then bring that out onto your background paper as well.

I only wanted to add a small amount of yellow to the page so I only added colour to a small portion of the stamp and also used my 'clean' palette knife to spread it along the edges of my paper a bit as well.

Add some cool white stripes to your page using the edge of your ruler. Add white paint to your craft messy mat, spread it out using a palette knife and then dip your ruler into the white and 'stamp' onto your page, keep stamping until you have the lines and effect you want.

Add smears or splatters of white paint to your page using your finger, and splatters with a fan brush.

Using the palette knife again, spread pink paint through the Little Big Love Flutterby Stencil as shown in the photo above. The let dry before you add anything else. Once dry, tear strips of gold washi tape from a past kit and add to your background then stick your desired strips and stickers over the top.

Layer Filler Cards under your chosen photo, I chose bright and funky filler cards to match my background.

Stick down your photo cluster and then add your title ! I outlined my photo in black pen to make it stand out a bit more.

Here are some close ups :-)

I hope to see your creations using my background technique.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, make sure you leave me some love!

Hugs

Stay Fierce | Allara Bamforth

Happy Sunday!

The background for today's layout has been created with the fabulous Flutter Colour Paints and the Flutterby Desgins Art Foamies. Down the right side of the page I've used Grape Soda, Tropicana Teal and Green Limousine, blending them together with my brayer. Using the 'Fill It In' Foamies I have stamped them into the wet paint and the restamped to the side, so that they have lots of lovely colour variation from the three colours I have used. I then stamp a couple in back ink for contrast.

Once this is dry and using the 'Migraine Madness Stencil' I sponge some of the circles with Orange Goldfish paint. I splatter some Grape Soda and Artic White over the top and draw around the circles with pink, blue and white paint pens.

The photo and titles are mounted with Everyday Etc Filler cards from the Flawsome Range and the titles are also cut from Flawsome Everyday Etc Cards.

To finish off I have added a Flair Button from the Flawsome range and a few small silver sequins. It was a fairly quick page to put together but it is amazing how quick you can create clever background with paint and stamps and co-ordinate with the fabulous ranges that Flutterby Designs have.

Thanks for taking a peek!

He Calls Me Mum | Rachel Dutko

Hi everyone, its Rachel here with you today.
I am stash-busting with the 'Super Cool' collection for my layout today.

I created a mixed media background with some paint, stencilling and stamping.

I layered some Super Cool Everyday Etc cards under my photo.

I added a heart from Charm's Creations, a Sticky Snippet
a flair button and the only orange enamel dot I had left!!

I used a full-size Everyday Etc card as my page title.

I picked out the orange from the flair button to add
an orange page tab and some orange splatters around the page.
