Be Happy Yourself | Sue Plumb

Hi Flutterby peeps!
Sue Plumb here with you today to share my latest design team project using the fabulous 'Flawsome' collection. For this page, I was inspired by the quote card perfection is like the unicorn. magical. mythical. and the gorgeous watercolour background on the card.

Of course, I had to create my own watercolour background to match; so I started with my 'Macaroon 5' stencil and I applied some texture paste around my page. Next, I used a combination of Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dusts to match the beautiful colours on the Everyday Etc card.

Once my background had dried, I then gathered together some of the 'Flawsome' Everyday Etc filler cards and I cut and layered them together to form my photo mat. I also added a coordinating page tab; a Photo Cut Out tab; some frayed gauze and messy cotton thread. For my page title, I used the be happy wood veneer (that I had painted blue) from the 'Flawsome' wood veneer pack; which I then layered over the yourself die cut from the Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack.

I added the Everyday Etc quote card alongside my photo. On top of the card I added the you are enough tiny sticky quote sticker, then one of the 'Flawsome' flair buttons

To finish off my page, I added a few die cut hearts from the Bits & Bobs pack; and some torn pieces of Jane Davenport washi tape.

Unfortunately the 'Flawsome' Kits are all sold out in the store, BUT there are still plenty of items from the range available separately. You can head over to the Flutterby shop here to see what's still available and what's new in store.
Until next time, happy scrapping! X

Stay Wild, with Ros Madley

Hi everyone!
Super excited to be here again sharing another Flutterby Designs creation.
This time my page features the "Super Cool" collection.  I love this collection.  So much boy!

My background started out with some coloured moulding paste that I had left over from another project.  I just smeared this across my background and then added a layer of paste through the Stargazed Stencil.

I've cut some of the Everyday cards to make my cluster.  The photo has been fussy cut and slipped into the title card.

The star embellishment has been cut from a Everyday card and I've added a flair to the top of this for some dimension.

As per my usual, there's a little cluster down the bottom, finished off with some Enamel Dots.

Hope you've been inspired ♥

Beautiful Fierce | Belinda Spencer

Hello Flutterby lovelies!!

Belinda here today to share a another layout created with the fabulous Flawsome collection.

'Beautiful Fierce"

So many pretty colours in this range! But for this layout I used the yellow as the focus colour. I recently changed to an A4 size layout and I am really loving working in this format. I like to place the Flutterby stencil in the centre of the page and swipe some texture paste over it with a palette knife. Once dry, I wash over it some diluted Flutter Colour paint. Here I have used the Sunshine Yellow paint.

I had some strips of filler photo cards left over from other projects so I layered these across the layout.

I love that the yello words I used for my title really complemented the background.

I added some messy embroidery thread to the layout before adding my photo and other embellishments.

I hope I have inspired you to have a play with your own stash of the Flawsome collection. Make sure you share your work in the Facebook Inspiration Group so we can leave you some love.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.

Cheers
Belinda

Youer than you | Tamara Buckler

Hi All,

Tamara here again to share with you a layout I created that is a little different to my norm.

My little miss is obsessed with Dr Suess, I'm pretty sure she knows it word for word, so it was really fun to put this together this layout with the focus on that title, its one of my favourite Dr Suess quotes.

I have used a mixture of very watered down Flutterby paints as well as some others to create this background, I was going for a bit of a tie dye look. I then added some stamps and stencils for added interest, including some Colour Blast texture paste through the well loved and well used 'I Heart you' stencil.

I also mixed in some Sunshine Yellow Flutterby paint into some texture paste for the little dots you can see here.

The layout was finished off by matting my photo with some Everyday etc cards, and that was pretty much it!

Not a very product heavy page (sorry boss lady!) but I think it has a lot of impact and vibrancy because of the beautiful paint and the giant title!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my layout!

Big Loves,
Tam x

Happy Place | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies,

Me, Krisy back again to share my second layout for this month.  As I mentioned earlier in the month, this layout is a bit of a mish mash of colour and ranges all rolled into one layout.  I like to let the photos speak to me when I put my pages together and I often don't start with a plan.
I let the colours of the Camera from the Mad about You collection do the talking.  I cut the large camera from an Everyday Etc card and used it to matte my photo then I set about making my mixed media backgroud.  For this one I used some watercolouts and stamps and then added my photo over the top.  To finish off the layout I added a large Wood veneer that started out saying Hello love by in all the digging about the Hello broke part way so I trimmed it off and just used the love part.  I then cut apart a few other Everyday etc cards and used them as my titles.

Here is a close up

Thanks for stopping by today.  I will be back early next month with a layout using the Xtreme-teen collection.

Krisy xx

Friends Are the Family We Choose | Sue Plumb

Hi Flutterby peeps!
It's Sue Plumb here today to share my latest design team project with you. Today I have a 12x12" mixed media layout featuring a couple of photos of the boss lady (AKA Neet) and I that were taken at the 'Create by the Lake' retreat back in July. (These photos were taken late at night, when we were channeling our inner Freddie Mercury.) I don't really have to say anything else about the story behind these photos - I think the title says it all for me.

I started this page by brushing some black heavy gesso onto my white cardstock, then smeared some Colour Blast 'Envy' Colour Paste around randomly with a palette knife. Next, I used my Flutterby 'Stargazed' stencil to apply some texture paste; then topped it all off with a good drizzle of 'Green Limousine' Flutter Colour paint. I then set it aside to dry thoroughly.

The next step in my process was to create a mat for my photos, so I used an assortment of Everyday Etc filler cards, which I cut into pieces and layered together. I topped that with some frayed gauze and a page tab before mounting my photos on top.

I then started adding my embellishments to my layout. I used the friends are the family we choose wood veneer (unfortunately no longer available) for my title, which I painted with 'Tropicana Teal' Flutter Colour paint, before adding some white highlights with a paint pen. Above it, I added the let's flock together Black Tiny Sticky Quote.

Alongside my photos I added a small cluster that included the awesome ticket from the 'Xtreme Teen' ticket pack; the hashtag sticker from the 'Xtreme Teen' Sticky Quotes sheet; some messy cotton thread and a cute camera flair button.

Below my photo I added the parental advisory sticker (also from the 'Xtreme Teen Sticky Quotes); which I framed with a large wood veneer circle (coloured white with a paint pen). I also added a few other painted wood veneer circles to my page to help keep my design balanced.

The quote in the top right hand corner of my page was cut from one of the 'Partners in Crime' Everyday Etc cards (THE perfect set for funny photos with friends!) I then added a Charms Creations handmade star; a few star stickers from the 'Xtreme Teen' Sticky Quotes sheet; and some scattered enamel dots.
To finish off, I added a few stamped phrases, the date and a few splatters of mist.

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this with you. If you think you might like to join in on the fun at the 2018 'Create by the Lake' retreat, registrations have already opened! Head over to the Flutterby Facebook page for more details.
Until next time, happy scrapping!

Be Happy - Skai Mitchell

SPRING IS HERE!

I don't know about you, but that left like the
longest winter EVER.... I've definitely been suffering from some 'seasonal affect disorder' - aka: Winter Blues.

So this layout is dedicated to the turn of the season. It has all the moody blues of winter, with some cheeky sun rays that signal the promise warmer days and happier moods.

I've used the 'Against the grain' and 'Embrace' 12x12 papers that were in a retreat exclusive pack. I'm crossing my finger that the boss lady makes these a regular item!  Hint hint...

For my background I used my brayer to lay down some black gesso, then splattered some FLUTTER COLOUR PAINT over the top.

I've used my signature messy machine stitching on my edges, and combined these papers with the blue cards from the 'FLAWSOME' - FILLER CARDS'

For my embellishments, I've used a little bit of everything. Wood veneer heart, TEAL Sticky snippets, Teal Sticky Snippets, White Sticky QuotesFLARE No:181 and FLARE No:180, and the camera cut out from 'BLANK PALETTE' Everyday Etc Cards

Be Happy, with Ros Madley

My first share for September.  Welcome Spring!!
Although the normally beautiful Geelong has decided to extend Winter.

For this page I have used more of the gorgeous Flawsome Collection, again the page created with a different theme to the design of the cards.

I started out with just a random spread of Sunshine Yellow Flutter Colour Paint.  Super bright!
Added a little splash of Black Mahem Flutter Colour to the top of this once dry.

I followed the shape of some of the cards for the chevron cut outs and have just layered different cards to use underneath my photo. I find the easiest way to do this is to staple them together.  Less messy than glue and easier to tuck pieces in.

My title is a wood veneer from the Flawsome wood veneer bits.  This has been coloured with Black Mayhem Flutter Colour.
And a few enamel dots to finish off the page.

Hope you've been inspired ♥

Flawsome Planner Phanatic | Belinda Spencer

Hello Flutterby Peeps!

Belinda here today to share 'a week in the life of' in my planner. I managed to get my hands on the fabulous Flutterby Planner Phanatic Limited Edition Kit to decorate my planner and combined it with a little Flawsome too.

First of all I had to wait for a week when I was actually doing something fun!!

Here's a peek at the kit.

I chopped up some of the Flawsome Filler Photo Cards to decorate the headers, footers and in between the days.

I went crazy with all sorts of stickers and page tabs.

I added some stamping using planner stamps that I already had in my stash.

I had a bit of diluted Flutter Colour Paint left over from another project so I flicked that over the pages to tie it all together. The paper in my planner is not the best quality so it's best not to add too much water to it. Just a few flicks here and there didn't hurt it too much.

The wood veneer bits and pieces were just placed there for photo purposes only. I like to keep things pretty flat in my planner so it doesn't cause problems writing on the other side of the page.

I chopped up one of the cards from the Blank Palette Everyday Etc Photo Cards to add strips of arrows. Sometimes it's nice to break up all of the colour with a little black and white.

And there is my planner spread! The good news is I have heaps of that kit left to do several more planner spreads. I just need to wait for something else a little more interesting than my regular old boring life. LOL

Thanks for stopping by the blog! If you have the Planner Phanatic kit I would love to see what you did with it in your own planner. Make sure you share in the Flutterby Inspiration HQ Facebook group.

Cheers
Belinda
