We Are Family | Bernii Miller

Hello Flutterby peeps

Bernii here with you today to share with you my latest layout that I created with the filler cards from the " We Are" collection. This is was a layout that I pulled together using the left over pieces from my stash. I love how it turned out and how the white background really helps the bright colours of the card to pop.

I cut down the filler cards to 4 x 4 inches and then cut those in half again to create a triangle. I was inspired by a quilt magazine and pin wheels that have been popping up in my news feeds.

To help finish of this layout I used the teal acrylic title .. which you can check out in the store HERE.

Well thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have found some inspiration with the gorgeous Flutterby Designs goodies.

Till next time

Much love
Bernii

Make your life Magical AF | Tamara Buckler

Hey Hey Scrappy Friends,

I'm back today sharing another fun layout using the new Magical AF collection. This time I decided to use cut he 'Mysterious' paper from the 12x12 Paper Pack as my focus, and cut it out on my Silhouette using a Cut File from CUT to YOU.

I love how this Cut File allows this paper to be the hero of this page, and almost by taking away sections of the paper, it allows the intricacy and detail of the paper stand out even more. I popped each circle up on double sided tape to emphasise this, and added some whites splatters to  connect the background to the foreground.

At this point, I didn't want to do too much more to the page, so I just worked on adding my title and my photo cluster. I used the gorgeous 'magical' metallic acrylic as the main element here, and used a die cut and the 'AF' cut from an Everyday Etc Card to complete the title.  I also added in Charm's Creations heart and a Flair Button to balance this out.

I layered up a heap of Everyday Etc Filler Cards behind my photo, using foam tape between some of the layers. I also tucked a couple of page tabs in at the top of my photo.

To finish things off  I added some Puffy Heart Stickers and another Flair Button to the front of my pic, and some metallic ink splatters over the photo and the page.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my page. Make sure you're sharing your creations using the Magical AF collection over in our FB group.

Until next time,
Big Loves,
Tam xo

You are proof | Tamara Buckler

Hello Flutterby Friends,

I'm back again today to share my first layout using the Magical AF collection, which I am totally in love with!! Honestly, I think this collection was made for me. My 9 YO daughter is obsessed with Unicorns, so I have lots to scrap about!!

I started this page with the 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' 12x12 paper in mind, but because I wanted to add some mixed media, I decided to just add it at the bottom and top of the page. I tore strips from the paper, decided on the position of my photo and then added my mixed media to a piece of white cardstock. I used watered down Flutter Colour Paint in Grape Soda and Raspberry Punch, as well as a few other inks and mists.

I layered up some Everyday Etc Filler Cards behind my photo, focussing on pulling the colours from the rainbows. I then decided to fussy cut this gorgeous unicorn from one of the Everyday Etc Cards - this then guided how I would build my clusters around my photo - due to the scale of the image compared to the rest of the page.

I tucked a Charms Creation cloud behind the unicorn, and then fussy cut a rainbow from the patterned paper to tuck behind - I dulled this down a bit with some gesso so it became a background piece. I then tucked some other elements around this, including a flair button, some thread and a gem.

I added a Charm's Creations heart to the other side of my photo to balance out the page. and tucked another rainbow and gem behind it. I also added a cute little cloud from the Die-cut Bits and Bobs pack.

To build my title, I fussy cut the word 'Unicorns' from one of the Everyday Etc Cards, and mounted it onto some foam tape. I then used some Sticky Alphas that I had in my stash to make the other words, sticking them to some cardstock and then cutting them out.

I scattered some hearts and stars from both the Bits and Bobs pack and the Sticker Sheet around the page, and I love how this carries the whimsy and colour from the bottom to the top of the page, and ties the two pieces of patterned paper together.

I actually called the page done at this point, and went off to work the next day with a bit of a feeling that something wasn't quite right - it dawned on me at lunch time that the photo was too dark and felt like it wasn't connected to the page (scrapbookers, right?!?). I came home and added a darker piece of paper from the Everyday Etc Cards behind my photo, and then added some black splatters, and black doodling, including around my title and photo mats. I really feel like that this ties everything together much better, and anchors the photo to the page. Now it really was done!

Thanks for stopping by today, and make sure you jump over and get your hands on this awesome new collection! I can't wait to share more of my creations with you over the next few weeks.

Big Loves,
Tam xo

Road Trip | Elisa Ablett

Hi Flutterby Fans,

Elisa here from the new look Design Team with my first post !

I have been super excited to start creating with all the bright and funky Flutterby goodies and came across some 'road trip' products and I immediately thought of the layout I would create.

My layout features the 'Good Vibes Only' collection plus loads of other Flutterby products.

Let's take a closer look at the finer details 😀

I started with a background created with Distress stains, stamping with Viva Las Vegas Stamps and blending ink through Flutterby Designs 'bright-like-a-diamond-stencil'.

I also fussy cut some elements from the 'Good-vibes-only-everyday cards' to build a scene along with some layered 'good-vibes-only-filler-cards' and 'wood-veneer' bits and pieces.

Add some distressed sewing (ahem... ok terrible sewing) and a cute little flair-button, some wood veneers and a few splatters here and there!

I also like to get some use out of my old circle punches.

Layer your elements so they flow across your page over the background you have created.

Make use of your stored up snippet-strips - neutral colours to add that extra layer over your elements.

Don't be afraid to try your photo and elements on an angle, I cut a photo in two (palm trees and sky) and added that to my photo cluster to continue with telling my story on the page and then decided to give them all a little twist to add visual interest.
Play around with your design before you stick it down!

That's it from me today, thanks for stopping by the blog and
sharing my excitement for my first post as part of the team!

Wishing you all a Happy New Year as well, let's all do some fabulous things in 2019 !

Hugs

Elisa x

We Are Crazy | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
As you have likely already seen with the recent announcement of the new Flutterby design team, after over two years as a member of the DT, the time has come for me to step down. I can't explain what a difficult decision it was to make, but I felt it was time to make room for some fresh faces and inspiration. I have loved every minute of being part of this team and flying the Flutterby flag.

So without further ado, here is my final project share - a fun, 12x12" layout created with the recently released 'We Are' collection...

I began this page with some fun photos of my daughter and her friend that were taken when they attended a circus skills workshop during the school holidays. I used one of the papers called 'We Are' from the 12x12" paper pack and applied some Arctic White Flutter Colour paint with a brayer to cover some of the pattern in the focal area of my page.

I then took some of the 'We Are' Everyday Etc filler cards and layered them to create a mat for my photos. I also added some scrap cardboard to the back of my photos to help pop them up from the page. I tucked one of the 'We Are' page tabs in behind my photo as well.

The large camera and the we are title words were all fussy cut from some of the 'We Are' Everyday Etc cards. The word crazy was from the 'We Are' Sticky Quotes sheet, as was the we're all mad here sticker I used near the top of the page.

The little emoji faces I used around the page to help tie in the blue colour were fussy cut from one of the coordinating filler cards, along with the yellow chevrons I placed to help draw the viewers eye into the photos.

The funny quote I added underneath my photos was from the 'We Are' Everyday Etc card pack, and was a perfect supporting sentiment for this page theme. (Both these kids would agree with it! hehe)

I thought my layout needed a little more black to help finish it off, so I used the where is my mind? sentiment from Viva Las VegaStamps and stamped it several times around the page with black ink. I also used my Stabilo All pencil to add some small marks and a doodled page border.

Finally, I added a few enamel dots for a little more visual interest, and my handwritten journalling using a Sharpie and I was done.

So that's a wrap on my final layout for Flutterby Designs. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Anita for having me on her team - I love this lady so much! I have had a blast creating with her products alongside so many talented ladies.

Thank you also to everyone for the support and kind words for the work I have produced over the last couple of years. It really makes all the time you put in as a designer worth it when you hear that you inspire other people. I am sure I will still "see" most of you around, and will most likely have some Flutterby creations to share in the Flutterby Inspiration HQ group.
Over & out.

Crazy Together | Belinda Spencer

Hello Flutterby peeps!!

Belinda here today to share my latest layout featuring the fabulous NEW We Are collection.

'Crazy Together'

I used the lovely 'Messy Memories' paper from the 12 x 12 We Are Paper Pack as the base for my layout. I added a little stencilling using the 'xo' stencil and some heavy white gesso. I flicked some white paint pen over the surface too.

Next I layered on a strip of the 'The Story of Us' 12 x 12 paper followed by some cropped pieces from the Everyday Etc Filler Cards. I added the die cut photo frame from the We Are Die Cut Bits & Bobs as well as a frame from the Frame 46 Photo Cut Out.

I added my title using a Die Cut Bits & Bobs word as well as a sticker from the We Are Sticky Quotes. I cut out a couple of fun faces from one of the filler cards and popped those on as well as some page tabs and wood veneer pieces.

I hope you are having fun playing with your stash of We Are goodies. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog.

Cheers
Belinda

Family | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
Sue Plumb here to share my latest Flutterby design team project with you. Today I have a 12x12" mixed media scrapbook layout to share that features some of the recently released 'We Are' collection and a photo of my siblings and I together.

I had lots of painty fun creating this page, starting with some 'Tropicana Teal' Flutter Colour paint, which I applied to the bottom half of the page using a brayer. I then used a wide brush to apply some Dina Wakley 'Night' acrylic paint to the top half of the page.

Once the paint was dry I used a silver gelato to scribble some colour around the edge to form a rough border, which I then blended a little using a water brush.

Over the paint on the top half of the page, I used the 'Bubble O'Fun' stencil and some Colour Blast 'Steel' Colour Paste to add some texture in a few areas. Over the bottom half, I used the same stencil and some grey ink with a sponge dauber to add a little detail. (Unfortunately this stencil is no longer available, but there are a great range of alternative designs available HERE)

Next, I created a layered mat for my photo using some of the 'We Are' Everyday Etc filler cards. I also added some frayed gauze and a frame from the Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack that I cut in half before adding my photo on top; then tucked in a couple of the 'We Are' page tabs

Lately I have been trying to incorporate some older products and mix them with new, so I took the opportunity to include some washi tape from the 'Good Vibes Only' kit. I also included some of my Flutterby staple supplies - white Tiny Sticky Quotes and enamel dots.

On the bottom half of my layout, I wanted to use a variety of words created from different materials arranged in a sort of word cloud. I started with the large LOVE word from the Die Cut Title Set as the base, adding the word family from the gorgeous 'We are Family' Teal Acrylic Title pack.
In keeping with my mission to include a few older supplies, I overlaid the forever & ever wood veneer piece along the bottom.

On the left side of my word cloud, I added hugs from the Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack, along with a wood veneer heart.
To keep my page balanced, I also tucked a small wood veneer star in behind my page tab above my photo.

Finally, I added the this is us flair button from the 'We Are' flair button set #2 into my word cloud before finishing off my page with a little scribbled border detail using a Stabilo All pencil.

Thanks so much for stopping by today so I could share this with you.
Until next time, happy scrapping! X

Together | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
Sue Plumb here to share my latest Flutterby design team project with you. Today I am sharing a 12x12" mixed media layout that features the brand new "We Are" collection, that was released to the Flutterby Designs store on Friday night. This range has proven to be very popular already, so if you haven't snapped some of it up yet, make sure you get on it!

So, for the page I created with the "We Are" collection, I decided to use a beautiful photo of two of my kids that I took recently. (I was aiming for all three of them together, but there is always someone who doesn't play along and ruins my fun!)
I was actually lucky enough to create this layout on retreat at the Sunshine Coast last weekend, while the Flutterby boss lady herself was a mere table away from me!

I began my layout with one of the sheets from the 12x12" paper pack, called "The Story of Us". This paper is designed like a large sheet of notebook paper and it was the perfect canvas for me to add some of my Flutter Colour Paints to it. I used a combination of brayer, brush and my fingers to spread the paints around, layering the colours until I achieved the look I was after.

I then added some stamping using background stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps and some sweet hearts from Cocoa Vanilla Studio with teal Archival ink; before using my Stabilo All pencil to add a few random scribbles on top.

I used a few different "We Are" Everyday Etc Filler Cards to layer behind my photo - cutting, tearing and even punching them to add interest. I also added the grateful page tab from the "We Are" Page Tabs sheet. I then topped the papers with some frayed gauze to give soft texture, before mounting my photo on some scrap cardboard and adding it on top.
I then added a small heart from the Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack directly onto the corner of my photo.

Alongside the left edge of my photo, I added a cute handmade heart embellishment from Charms Creations, which proved to be the perfect spot to add the we are family flair button from the "We Are" Set 2 on top.

Below the bottom right edge of my photo I added a couple of phrases from the Sticky Quotes sheet, as well as one above my photo. Then, also from the Sticky Quotes sheet, I added the script word together at the bottom of my page.

To finish off, I added a few enamel dots; a small splattering of teal ink and stamped the phrase I love you lots with a roller stamp.

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this with you. I hope I have given you a taste of just how fun and fabulous this collection is for scrapping all your family photos.
Make sure visit the store to snap up all the new goodies (including a great range of mugs that are perfect for Christmas gifts!) HERE

Until next time, happy scrapping!
