Parenthood || by Elisa Ablett

Hi Flutterby Fans,

My turn up on the blog today with my latest creation, a colourful fun layout featuring the awesome new collection - Parent of the Year with new Art Foamies Stamps!!

The new collection is funny, eye catching and completely unique with loads of relatable quotes for all the parents out there.

Here are the products used from the Flutterby Online Shop: some of the clearance items may no longer be available due to the recent Flutterby retreat, some of those ladies went mad at the retreat and bought the whole shop I reckon..... full disclosure - I might've been one of them 😂

Other products include:

Distress Oxide Ink Pads
Black Gesso

Here are some close ups for the finer details:

Fussy cut a frame from a Filler card or photo cut apart sheet
and adhere at an angle to draw focus to your photo.

Create a unique rainbow stencilled background by using a blending tool and different coloured inkpads through a Word Stencil. Hold the stencil still using washi tape while you blend.

Stamp and fussy cut your 'This Way' Art Foamies stamps and colour using watercolours and a paint brush to match your background. Use the triangles to draw your eye to your photos and title.

Use your 'Make your mark' Art Foamies to make a border. To get a smooth even coating of paint on your Art Foamies, use a brayer and brayer paint from a craft messy mat onto your stamp.

I literally laughed out loud when I saw this quote, it's so true, my husband and I adore our puppy cuddles when we come home from work. The kids meanwhile just ask when dinner will be ready lol.

Thanks for stopping by the blog, make sure you leave some love in the comments, remember I have teenagers and rely on the dog for a happy hello 👉😂😂😂

Hugs

Unique | Rachel Dutko

Hi everyone!

Rachel back with you today with another layout using the 'Magical AF' collection.

For this layout I've pulled out some purple and pink tones to combine with black.

To create my mixed media background I started by swiping some
purple acrylic paint onto white cardstock with an old gift card.
I then applied some modelling paste through a 'Words Of Wisdom' stencil.

I used the 'unique' stencil word as my title, over some strips of
Everyday Etc cards and cardstock.
I also added a snippet strip.

I layered some Magical AF Everyday Etc filler cards under my photo.

I added a flair button, some page tabs and some stickers.

I also added a heart from Charm's Creations.

I finished my page with some purple ink splatters.

Thanks for looking

Shine Bright Beautiful | Tamara Buckler

Hello Flutterby peeps,

I'm so happy to be back with you to share my latest layout featuring lots of messy mixed media and a heap of Flutterby goodies.

The colours for this layout were inspired by the outfit my daughter is wearing - I really wanted to pull out the mustard and pink.

I also felt that I wanted to have a contrast for these two main colours, so added in some Grey Texture Paste. I did this by mixing Black Mayhem Flutter Colour Paint to my Texture Paste, which I then ran through the 'Words of Wisdom 2,0' stencil (on clearance in the shop, btw!) Once this was dry, I watered down some Orange Goldfish and Raspberry Punch Flutter Colour Paint, and used the packaging technique to apply this to my page. I also added grey splatters by mixing Black Mayhem and Arctic White with some water, and flicking it on the page with my brush.

I used tissue paper, cardboard, and plasterers tape in between and behind various layers of Everyday Etc Cards -  a lot of these were from the 'We Run the World' collection.  I also added to these layers one of the piece from the 'Hello' fussy cuts set.

To create my title I fussy cut "Shine Bright" from the 'Wild Bohemian' Everyday Etc Photo Cards, and then added "beautiful" from the 'Flawsome' wood veneers, which I painted white.

I am in love with all this texture and dimension!!

To balance off my title, I added another piece that I fussy cut from the 'Wild Bohemian' Everyday Etc Photo Card, which I tucked in with a Charms Creations Heart and a Flair Button that has been in my stash forever!

To complete the page, I added in some Snippet Strips from the Monochrome Set, which I anchored to the page with some pieces that I cut from the centre of the Fussy Cut piece (I've tucked this in a few other places too). I also added in a Wood Veneer heart which I painted with the a coat of Arctic White then a coat of Orange Goldfish Flutter Colour Paint - this just makes the colour more punchy on top of the wood veneer.

I'm super happy with how this page turned out! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Big Loves,

Cool. Whatever, Mum. by Tamara Buckler

Hey Flutterby peeps,

Do you ever start a layout and it ends up completely nothing like you had planned? That's what happened with my layout today, but I have to say that I think it may have been a happy accident!

I started by using texture paste through the 'words of wisdom' stencil on 12 x12 cardstock, dried it with my heat gun and then applied watercolour.  I'm not sure what I was thinking, because the watercolour smudged away the not quite dry texture paste, and I made an awful mess! I then decided to trim down the (not-quite-dry) paper and ripped the crap out of my page! Gah!

But as I said, happy accident, as I ended up with a piece that fit perfectly onto a 8.5 x 11.5 page, and I really love the grungy but feminine edge this piece gives my layout. Plus I think it sets the mood perfectly for this pic of my less than impressed pre-teen miss!

I added in the awesome die cuts from the 'Xtreme Teen' range to create my title. So freaking accurate! Anyone else sick of hearing this from their kids??

I layered up my photo with some 'Xtreme Teen' filler cards, and I used a Flutterby Flair button, and another die cut to the left of my photo for added interest.

A couple of the wood veneers, and some ink splatters and my page is complete and saved from total disaster!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my layout! Why don't you share you scrappy disaster stories in the comments?

Big Loves,
Tam x
