You are loved...Dumbass | Tamara Buckler

Hey, Hey Scrappy peoples,

Welcome back to the Flutterby Blog today! This weekend seems to be a busy one for lots of our scrappy friends and DT chicks, as they are off enjoying a retreat. I myself am still recovering from the epic long weekend that was #createbythelake2017. Seriously good fun, lots of scrappy time and side splitting laughs with like minded people. The BEST!

I'm back on the blog today to share one of the layouts that I created at retreat. I stumbled across some 8.5 x 11.5 cardstock while I was there, and I can tell you, I am in love with this size!! Its so cute and compact, but the dimensions work in so many ways.

I went pretty hard with the gesso on the background here, and then mixed up some texture paste with the Raspberry Punch Flutter Colour paint through my fave 'I heart you' stencil. I then did the same with the gorgeous new 'Little Big Love' stencil and the Grape Soda Flutter Colour Paint. I then went a bit free range with Aquamarine Dream Flutter Colour Paint, and then watered down some Bahama Blue to splatter all over the page.

I altered one of the wood veneers from the new 'Flawsome' collection with the Aquamarine Flutter Colour Paint, and then inked around the edges to grunge it up. I layered up the 'Flawsome' Everyday Etc Filler Cards behind my pic, but didn't pop my photo up as there is already so much dimension on the page.

To balance off the page, I added some page tabs from the Sentence Enhancers and Mad About You pack. As well as the rad 'love who you are' flair from the Flawsome range.   Finishing touches were the Neon Enamel Dots, as well as some Die Cuts and Snippet Strips.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my layout, I hope you're having awesome scrappy adventures!!

Big Loves,
Tam x

Awesome & #Cool | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies,

Krisy back today, I have 2 layouts to share.  Both are documenting 2 big things that happened this year.  One is my daughter, Poppy, started kindy and the other is my son, Leo's, first stay in hospital to have some blood vessels in his nose cauterised.

First, Kindy.  The background for this layout is made up of random left over thickers.   We all have them and this is a way to use them.  I added a few layers of Gesso and then some watercolour and inks and then embellished over the top.  It is a fun layout.

I embellished my background with some dissected Everyday Etc cards, a flair button and some Word Snippets from the Flutterby Shop.

Now on to Leo.  The procedure wasn't a very big one but because of his age, Leo had to be put under.  He wasn't phased at all by the hospital, the doctors.  It was only as he was going into the operating theatre that he was a little quiet.  Snapchat was something that I had recently down loaded and he was more interested in that.  He love the hair net, gown and bandages.  This photo is all about how cool as a cucumber he was.  The colours of the cards from the Everyday Etc Cards "Extreme Teen" collection matched the colours of the photo perfectly.

I also used Page tabs, flair buttons and the Knucklehead stencil from the Extreme teen range.

Who doesn't love a good Snapchat filter?! :)

Cool As Bro | Sue Plumb

Hi peeps!
Sue Plumb here with you today and it's time for another design team project share from me. Two weeks ago, I was lucky enough to attend the annual Flutterby 'Create by the Lake' retreat held at Lake Keepit, along with several members from the Flutterby Design Team (and about 75 other ladies). I was so happy to be able to get together with these girls in person - they really are my people!

Here's a shot of us together taken just after the colour activity that Anita had organised...

L to R - Skai, Tam, Anita, me (Sue) and Krisy

Whilst on retreat, I also had the opportunity to create several Flutterby projects, the first of which I am sharing today. This page was created using a combination of Flutterby items.

I started with a white cardstock base, and I added some red watercolour paint using a Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dust (Candy) and a wide brush. I then took my Flutterby 'Stargazed' stencil (currently on special in the Flutterby store, so grab one if you don't have it already!) and added some texture using Colour Blast Colour Paste (Dusty Charcoal); and some splatters of red & black mist.

I then created a layered mat for my photo using a range of Everyday Etc cards (some of these were from the recently released 'Xtreme Teen' collection); a page tab and some messy black cotton for added texture.

I fussy cut the large pair of sunglasses from another of the 'Xtreme Teen' Everyday Etc cards, which I topped with a flair button.

The title was fussy cut from the same card as the glasses, and I added a the Blackboard Sticky Quote directly onto my photo. Around my page I stuck a couple of Snippet Strips, which also helped to bring more of the aqua colour onto my page.

As a final touch, alongside my photo I added a little ghetto blaster die cut from the 'Xtreme Teen' Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack; and a few stamped words and I was done.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Flutterby blog today so I could share this with you. I will be back again in a couple of weeks with another project. In the meantime, stay tuned to see what the rest of the team has been up to and don't forget to share your own projects in our Flutterby Inspiration HQ group on Facebook.
Until next time, happy scrapping!

Absolutely F%$KING Gorgeous...

Hey Flutterby peeps...

My creative cup is overflowing and my soul is nourished after our 2017 'Create by the Lake' Retreat. I had to miss 2016 at late notice due to some health issues, and I was determined not to miss this year.

It was amazing to meet so many people Ive been facebook friends with forever in the flesh, and to see everyone creating with the new 'Flawsome' collection was truly inspiring.

Here are 2 more of my layouts using up all the bits in my kit, and capturing my black and edgy style that seems to be my trade mark. Both these layouts feature pics of my sister Kaya and I out on a messy night together. Like any siblings, we fight, but we always come back to each other and have each others backs...

For this background I watered down some of the Flutter Colour Paint and splattered it all over my black card stock.
I mixed up some Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals into Matt medium, and applied it through the Fragmented stencil.

Next, I collected all the FLAWSOME' - FILLER CARDS' that had black, blue, pink and purple tones. I cut them in half and roughly created multiple layers behind each of my photo's. I scrap lifted this technique from the super talented Amy Prior, who I was fortunate enough to table buddies and roomies with at retreat.

I fussy cut around the 'Absolutely fucking gorgeous' card from the 'FLAWSOME' Everyday Etc Cards, them went on to embellish with some hearts from the 'FLAWSOME' Die Cut Bits & Bobs, BLACKBOARD Sticky Quotes, Black' Tiny Sticky Quotes, and some NEON Enamel Dots.

This layout probably should have come first, as its a pic from the beginning of the night before we really got messy.

My background started out on Marshmallow cardstock, and I used a foam applicator with some black stazon to ink through the 'Flawsome' Stencil.  I've used some of the new Distress Oxides from Tim Holts to create the splatters of blue, pink, purple and black.

Next Ive matted my photo with the black piece from the 'FLAWSOME' - FILLER CARDS' Everyday Etc Cards and the Blue mixed media card. The cards have been made from pages from the boss lady art journal, and are super fucking rad! Add in another 'FLAWSOME' Die Cut Bits & Bobs for embellishment, and some 'Black' Tiny Sticky Quotes. There are a shit tonnes in this pack, and there is something for every occasion.

Last but not least, dont forget a 'Sentence Enhancers' FLAIR BUTTONS to let your sibling know how much you really love them!

Hope you have enjoyed these 2 layouts with the new collection. The shop is back online and there is no better time to grab some of this awesome collection and get creating!!

Love and light

Unicorn, with Ros Madley

Hi everyone.
My page this week features the awesome Flawsome collection, with just a little different use of the set.

I had a lot of fun making this layout which i started with a piece of gelli printed cardstock.
Some flutter color paint has then been dabbed through a stencil to finish my background.

I used some Filler Cards and cut them in different size squares.   I used this as the base for my cluster.

On top of this I've added a tag that i made a while ago.   It's been sitting on my desk for ages and think it goes perfect with the colours and shapes in the Flawsome set.  The circles on the background have also been cut from a Filler Card.

Super cute unicorn quote has been cut from a Filler Card.   I dusted off my copics and added a unicorn stamp.  On top of this is a little Wood Veneer, coloured with pink texta.

I've used some scrapdots on the heart die cuts to add some dimension.  Page has been finished off with a couple  stamps and a sprinkle of sequins.

Hope you've been inspired.

Stay Weird & Happy | Belinda Spencer

Hello Flutterby lovelies!!

Belinda here today to share two layouts featuring the totally fabulous Flawsome collection.

'Stay Weird' Layout

How cute is that 'Big Little Love'Stencil?? Cute right? I swiped some Golden Light Molding Paste over it to create a sweet textured background. Once the paste was dry, I spritzed the surface with water and then added diluted Flutter Colour Paint in my favourite colour...Tropicana Teal! I love to dilute it to a watercolour consistency and add with a soft, wet paintbrush to my layout to create a lovely wash of colour. I then spritzed with a bit more water and then set aside to dry.

I used one of my favourite photos of my kids and I messing about taking selfies for a christmas photo shoot session. I created lots of layers under my photo using co-ordinating filler photo cards.

Finally I added some page tabs, a flair button and some kick ass wood veneer pieces.

Next up is a layout about me. Eek!!

'Happy' Layout

For this layout I created the background in the same way as the first layout. This time I used the 'Flawsome' Stencil which I LOVE!! I did actually find it a bit hard and weird to use those words to describe myself though.

I have used a lovely soft palette for this layout of aqua, grey, white and black. It's a favourite colour combination of mine. When I created my colour wash for the background I added a little Arctic White Flutter Colour Paint to the Tropicana Teal to create a slightly softer colour.

I outlined the two words that I thought best described me just like the word 'incredible' on the filler photo card. I can't stop using those gorgeous wood veneer pieces from the range so I scattered those from top to bottom of my layout.

Have you had a chance to create with this stunning range yet? If you have, please make sure you share your beautiful creation in our Flutterby Inspiration Group on Facebook. I would love to see what you have done with your stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers
Belinda

The Queen of all the Colours & ART not everyone will understand | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies,

Krisy back today, and I can tell you that right now I would be at "Create By the Lake" chilaxing and sucking in some creative juices from all the ladies around me.  This blog was written in advance but I know I will have some wicked layouts to share coming very soon to the blog.

Anyways, todays share is all about me.  I don't scrap about me very often as my own person, but I'm trying to include "Me" a bit more.

The Extreme Teen collection had a few cards that really described me.  Maybe I just am not ready to fully adult yet.  Actually, I know I don't want to be a full adult EVER.

I haven't really ever left my teenage goth phase behind, black is still my go to colour to wear.  So, the "Black is my Happy Colour" card from the Everyday Etc Card pack was perfect for me.  I also have the mouth of a well educated sailor so a little bit of censorship and Parental Advice is required for some people that meet me in real life.  I have always been that way.

My Knucklehead stencil is my very favourite ever.  I love Skulls and bones.

Here is another layout about me and my latest addition to my body art.  I used the Fragmented Stencil to add some details to my background and then I used an Everyday Etc Card from the Creative Chaos Collection.  I also inked a bit of wood veneer with Stayzon to add #this is awesome to the bottom right hand corner of the page.

That's it from me today.
