GUEST DESIGNER - AMY LANE

We've got 3 Guest Designers over the next 3 months, showcasing Flutterby Designs products.
Today we have the first share from...
AMY LANE

Here's Amy to explain what she has created :)

For my project I used the he said, she said stencil with a gelato smooshed into the texture paste, to create my background.

I then decided to use some of the 'We Run The World' Everyday Etc Cards to fill in the grid places after working out what photos I was using. I did cut them down to size to fit on the page to make it look balanced.

I mounted some of the Everyday Etc Cards onto craft foam to give it some height & create some visual interest on the page.

Using the some of the washi tape from the 'We Run The World' kit, Snippet Strips & flair buttons, I embellished my page. I also created a tag for the middle of my page using
one of the Everyday Etc Cards.

Here's a process video too :)

Amy will be back later this month with another share

Be Brave - Allara Bamforth

Hi everyone,

Very excited to be bringing you my first blog post for the Flutterby Team  and excited to be included with such an awesome group of creative women.

My post today is brought you from the fabulous We Run the World Collection using the 'Connie Paper' and a few of the cards, circles, female and male stencil, flutterby paint, wood veneers and flair. I have used some embossing powder as well on the wood veneers.

My eldest daughter recently moved out - back to the Central Coast and it has been quite an eye opening and challenging month for her in such a short amount of time but she has always been fiercly independent and headstrong. I have found myself giving her the same advice as what I've included on the layout but I think those qualities have helped her overcome some unpleasant situations. This is what this collection is all about and I love the empowering messages you can use in We Run the World.

Till next post,

Allara x

Love, Its The Little Things, by Rachel Dutko

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to bring you my first post for Flutterby Designs!

I created the background by cutting some strips from some
'Super Cool' Everyday Etc Cards and inking the edges.
I also matted my photo with some more cards from this set.

I have added a 'you're awesome' page tab (from Bright Notes 1
and a 'love our life' Kraft tab.

I fussy cut the word 'LOVE' and the sneaker from more 'Super Cool' Everyday Etc Cards.
Also in this cluster is a 'That's My Boy' Flair Button (from Set 149),
an 'everyday captured' ticket (from the 'Bright' set), and a sticky snippet sticker.

I also added some hot pink embellishments and muslin for some contrast.
Who says who can't add hot pink to a boy's layout??!!)

I finished off my page with some ink splatters and some Enamel Dots - Bold.

Thanks for looking

Hello, Be Happy | Tamara Buckler

Hello and Happy New Year to all our Flutterby peeps,

I'm grateful and very lucky to be back with you today as a member of the 2018 Design Team, this year is going to rock! I'm up today to share with you my first layout of the year, and I'm starting off with a bang!

This layout is using a piece of the exclusive 12x12 paper from the Flawsome Collection that I was lucky enough to pick up at 2017 Create by the Lake (you can no longer get this in the shop, but the new 12x12 paper pack in the 'We run the World' Collection is to die for!!)

This background paper is so fabulous, with so much colour and texture, that I didn't have to do too much. In fact I simply spread some white Gesso in a diamond shape around the centre of the page to create a cleaner focal point, and added some texture using white texture paste through the 'Hugs & Kisses' stencil.

I continued this concept by using the 'hello' fussy cut to provide a white surround for the photo, and then built up my layers from there, using the Everyday Etc Cards from a few of the ranges. I also added frames from the Mad About You Photo Cut Outs and Die Cuts.

I painted the Be Happy Wood Veneer and added some Charm Creations, some page tabs and a flair button, and that was page done!

Super happy with how this turned out! Thanks for stopping by and checking it out!

Big Loves,
Tam xo

Dec 25 Christmas Cheer | Belinda Spencer

Hello Flutterby Designs fans!!

Belinda here today to share my very first projects for the new year featuring the awesome Fair Dinkum Chrissy collection. I am so very happy to be back for another year of scrappy fun at Flutterby Designs and I am very grateful to Anita for having me back. I am so looking forward to creating alongside the new team of awesomeness.

Anyway, onto the shares!

My little family and I quite often head to the beach on Christmas Day so this is just the perfect range to scrap our family beach Christmas tradition.

'Dec 25' Layout

For this layout I was really drawn to all of the gorgeous silver elements in the Die Cut Bits & Bobs as well as the filler photo cards. I especially couldn't wait to use the stunning silver glitter acrylic 'Dec 25'. I swiped some silver acrylic ink across my white card stock base and let that dry before adding a little stamping. I flicked some of the silver ink as well as black and white Posca Pen paint over the background too.

I kept my colour scheme simple by using neutral black, white and silver. This colour scheme really made my darling daughter's red Christmas dress pop in the photo.

I created lots of layers as always with messy embroidery thread, page tabs, wood veneer and die cut elements.

I coloured the wood veneer with the black and white Posca Pens.

Here's what I used:
- Acrylic Title

To keep things fair, I have also scrapped a photo of my sweet son from the same Christmas Day at the beach.

'Christmas Cheer' Layout

For this layout I have reverted to type and used my very favourite Tropicana Teal Flutter Colour Paint diluted to a watercolour consistency on my background. I swiped some texture paste through the Bubble O' Fun Mini Stencil to add some dimension and interest.

I cropped some of the Filler Photo Cards to create the layers under my photo but that beach scene one is my absolute favourite so I just had to use the whole thing.

I finished off with some twine, wood veneer bits, flair button, page tabs and some cute stars that I fussy cut.

Here's what I used:

Well I hope you have been inspired by my first projects for 2018. Have you had a chance to scrap some Christmas photos yet with this fabo range? Please remember to add your awesome layouts to the Flutterby Inspiration HQ group. I really love to see what you have made.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheers
Belinda

Get Your Halo Dirty | Sue Plumb

Happy new year Flutterby peeps!
I am so happy to be staying on the Flutterby team again this year (Anita might have to pry me out with a crowbar at this rate - but who else lets me say "fuck" on my pages as much as she does?) ;)
Today I am here to share my first project for 2018 - a page I created using the recently released 'We Run the World' collection. (As soon as I saw this SnapChat filter, I immediately thought of the get your halo dirty card from this collection!)

Let's talk about my background first.
That gorgeous paper (that I have been hoarding!) is called 'Beyonce' and is one of the ten 12x12" papers from the 'We Run the World' Paper Pack. (These were produced in a very limited run, so if you want to get your hands on some, grab them before they are gone!) I didn't want to mess up the awesome pattern too much, so I simply dry-brushed a small amount of white gesso over my focal area to help define it.

The next thing I did was fussy cut my photos and then matted them with some white cardstock to help them pop a bit more. I also mounted the main photo on some cardboard (I use my Flutterby order boxes for this); so that the front photo would sit out from the one behind. (I was going with a "devil on your shoulder" type design.)
As I already knew I wanted to use the halo quote; I cut it out from the 'We Run the World' Everyday Etc card and then used the excess pieces to tuck in underneath the bottom edges of my photos.

Behind my photos at the top, I tucked in an Everyday Etc filler card that featured a gorgeous round frame, as I thought it kind of resembled an orb of light (or something like that). I also added some messy cotton thread for texture before sticking my photos down.

I love a good mixed font sentence that doubles for a title; so along with the quote, I used some Flutterby Blackboard and Teal Sticky Alphas; Snippet StripsBlack Tiny Sticky Quotes and the bad ass tab from the 'We Run the World' frame. Alongside my title, I added one of the flair buttons from the 'We Run the World' set #1.

To finish my page, I added a few of the hexagons from the 'We Run the World' Wood Veneer Bits set. I simply popped them out of the sheet and then used a pink Posca pen to quickly add a bright splash of colour before sticking them on.

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this with you. I am looking forward to sharing many more projects over the coming year. Until next time, happy scrapping!

WELCOME TO THE 2018 DESIGN TEAM

MEET THE 2018 DESIGN TEAM

Anita Rodway Owner/Designer

"So you know you're an artist if you go through a glue stick faster than a lipstick!? Well that's me!! Hello, I'm Anita. Graphic Designer / Full-time mummy to one boisterous 4yr old boy & a beautiful baby girl (enjoying every bit of it!!) & married to my best friend, Chris. We live in Tamworth, the country music capital of Australia.

My love of art started at a young age & I had choosen my career path pretty early. I have always loved mixed media & the design process. Never shying away from getting my hands messy. I am lucky enough to say the quote “Do what you love, love what you do” applies to me. I started scrapbooking started about 14yrs ago & I haven't stoppped!! I have however since forgotten all the other basics like vacuuming, cooking etc - but we get by LOL. Paper & paint are like therapy to me! It calms me & satisfies my arty desires.

I have been on numerous Design & Creative Teams. I am currently designing for Flutterby Designs, 2Crafty Chipboard, Scrap the Boys & Kraft +. I’ve had layouts published in magazines such as Scrapbooking Memories, Scrapbook Creations & Jot Magazine. I have made many friends & met some awesomely talented people through scrapbooking, that inspire me everyday. I am truly grateful to have met them all.

Allara Bamforth  Designer

Hi, I'm Allara and live in country NSW, having moved here 6 years ago from the coast. I have a husband and 3 children 18, 16 and 14 and work full time in health administration. I've always loved being creative having dabbled in all sorts of arts and crafts since high school. Before the scrapbooking bug took hold in 2003 I was very into Folk Art Painting which I think has definitely influenced my love of all things mixed media in the pages I produce now. This love is also combined with a passion for photography and have been working on trying to perfect and be creative with my digital imaging. My style incorporates many elements and is quite eclectic. I'm influenced by so many fabulous creations I see of FB and Pinterest but I would say I don't really have a plan when creating - I just like to experiment with my products and see what they do and match the pictures to them later. I do love retreats - I find I'm so inspired when I attend and can just churn out things quickly but don't get to attend them as often as I would like. I am thrilled to be a part of the Flutterby Design team and hope that I can inspire you too.

Rachel Dutko  Designer

Hi! My name is Rachel Dutko and I live in Adelaide with my husband and our 2 young boys, who are the inspiration for the majority of my scrapbook pages.

I first started scrapbooking about 10 years ago, but after a big break I rediscovered it with a life-changing passion about 4 years ago.

I love the fact that scrapbooking allows me to express my creativity and document my precious memories at the same time.
I'm lucky enough to have had a career in the television industry for the past 17 years, and I am in my craft space most nights for some 'me' time after the daily demands of work and family.
I love using mixed media, texture, and learning new techniques. I think my style is fun, bright, and sometimes messy, 'boy' pages. I mostly create 12x12 layouts, but I also like to create cards, tags, art journal pages, canvasses and      OTP projects.
Belinda Spencer  Designer

Hello! My name is Belinda Spencer and I have been scrapping since 2003. I live on a farm in the Adelaide Hills with my husband, two children and a multitude of animals.
I am predominantly a 12” x 12” scrapper but also love to create cards, artist trading cards, project life and the odd mini album and off the page project.
My style tends to include elements of shabby chic, fussy cutting and a touch of grunge, spooky elements and sometimes a swear word or two. I love to include texture and dimension with lots of lovely layers. My favourite technique right now is to create a watercolour effect on my backgrounds using various mists. I would be lost without my Canson white cardstock, craft knife and inks!
I have been published in Scrapbook Creations, Scrapbooking Memories and Somerset Memories magazines. I am currently a Design Team member at The Scrapbook Store, Kraft Plus Challenges, Darkroom Door, Charms Creations, Imaginarium Designs and Seriously Scrapbooking where I teach layout classes and card workshops. Previous teams have included The Colour Room, Purple Pumpkin, White With One, The Dusty Attic and Kaisercraft.
I am so thrilled to be joining this awesome team and look forward to sharing my love of papercrafting (and sentence enhancers) with you. Hopefully I can inspire you to play with your own Flutterby Designs goodies.

 Tamara Buckler  Designer

Hi, I’m Tamara, a 30 something wife and mumma to two not-so-little princesses. I have been scrapbooking for around 15 years, and love it more today then ever! I would say my style is ‘girly-grunge’ and my layouts can swing from either end of this spectrum. I love to make messy and textured layouts, but can also rip out some paper pieces pretties and be equally happy. I look forward to sharing my Flutterby creations with you this year!!

Sue Plumb  Designer

My name is Sue Plumb and I am a mum of 3 (daughter Brielle and twin sons Hunter and Kaden) and I come from the Glasshouse Mountains in Queensland. I began scrapbooking approximately 9 years ago, shortly after the birth of my daughter. Since that time, my work has evolved from a very simplistic paper-based style, to where it is now - which is far more artistic and often incorporates stamping, mixed media and eclectic elements. (Be warned - I love a good sentence enhancer too!)

Besides Flutterby, I also design for several other Australian teams including Cocoa Vanilla Studio; Colour Blast; and the Scrap the Boys and Scrap the Girls challenge blogs. I was also a 2017 Creative Team member for Scrapbooking Memories magazine.

I am honoured to be back with Anita designing for Flutterby Designs again in 2018, and look forward to sharing my passion for everything Flutterby with you!

Adele Toomey  Designer

Hi lovelies! My name is Adele but I’m known online as “Inkie Quill” where I post Project Life and traditional layout process videos on my YouTube channel. I started PL in 2013 before moving to traditional paper based layouts...and then I discovered the fun of adding mixed media to my pages and the rest is history! I also dabble in art journaling on my second YouTube channel, Let’s Get Inkie and love getting messy with inks, paints, pens and stencils. I’m always excited to dive into new techniques or products and can’t wait to show you what I come up with in 2018 with the rad Flutterby Designs goodies!
