Kick A$# My Boy-Chrissi Mannix

Hi Lovelies, Chrissi back today sharing a Project Life insert from my 2018 album.
The thing I love most about the Flutterby Designs Collections, is the attitude. I love how Anita infuses this kick ass attitude with such awesome designs, and that attitude is just perfect for this awesome experience we had last year.
As I was going through the Xtreme Teen Every Day Etc cards, I was seeing some awesome quotes and icons that were perfect for my sons District Cross Country insert I was doing in my project life album.
In 2018, my son had an amazing experience in school sports and athletics due to the Athletes with Disabilities program, meaning he competed against other athletes with similar challenges as himself, instead of other boys his own age, that he cant quite keep up with. So this meant, for the first time, he actually went through to the district carnival. Which was such a big thing for him. It was an amazing experience.
This card here, from the Every Day Etc cards was my favorite and probably the reason I chose this collection for this spread lol. It sums it up pretty perfectly.

Honestly, usually I'm not a frame person. I tend to struggle with them, but this one from the Photo Cut Outs sheet was too perfect to use on this photo. It highlights my boy and works with all the open space I have in the photo. I was happy to be able to use one lol. The veneer from the wood veneer bits pack was just perfect to embellish  my layout. I love the raw wood, and how it works, especially when working with 'boy' layouts.

I love how this Project Life Insert came together, and how perfect this collection was for it. I hope you enjoyed my project, and cant wait to share some new projects with you real soon.

Cool as Bro || Elisa Ablett

Hi Flutterby Fans,

Elisa here from the design team with my latest project for Flutterby Designs, a mixed media boy layout featuring a monochromatic palette plus the colour teal!

Who else is a teal fan?

With this layout I started with spraying teal colour through the Star Stencil, letting that dry completely before adding black ink elements by smoothing black ink through the He Said She Said Stencil and the Got Letters stencil.

Then adding some funky distressed stamping with Viva Las Vegas Stamps.

Though I think the winner in my eyes is the monochromatic everyday filler cards of the 'Blank Pallete' collection. Perfect to match with any colour/s and looks fab with wood veneer (speech bubbles).

Here are the close ups !

Thanks for stopping by the blog today,

Make sure you pop on by the Inspiration page to say hi!

Family | Allara Bamforth

Good Morning,

I'm back on the blog today with a lovely photo of my parents and their five grandchildren taken at Xmas. The 'We Are' collection was perfect to co-ordinate with this photo but this time
I have created my own back ground using Flutter Colour Paints - Sunshine Yellow, Green Limousine and Grape soda with my trusty brayer.

In the top left and bottom right corners of my page I have used to co-ordinating colours of oxide ink with the 'Aloha' stencil to match the gorgours flower in the bottom right of my photo that you can see in the pic above.

I created a focal point for my photo by adding a painted circle in the middle of my page with some white and black Flutter Colour paints.  My photo is matted with Everyday Etc Filler Cards from the We Are collection and I have cut the title with from Everyday Etc Cards.

I've added some We Are collection Sticky Quotes and some Tiny Sticky quotes. The page tabs are from another previous collection but co-ordinated nicely with the colour pallette. Finished off the page with Flair Button from We Are and some Neon Enamel Dots. I also added just some script stamping for interest.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Till next post,

Nice Normal Family | Rachel Dutko

Hi everyone!
Rachel back with you today.

For my share today I have used a mash-up of different Flutterby collections,
but the beauty of Anita's style means that all the collections
can be used so well together.

I have fussy cut a quote from a 'We Are' Everyday Etc card for my title.

I have layered several Everyday Etc filler cards under my photo - I have used some
'Fair Dinkum Chrissy' Everyday Etc filler cards as it was a photo from Christmas day,
from the 'Good Vibes Only' collection to match my dress.

I fussy cut a 'this is us' frame and added a flair button and page tab.

I added some Die Cut Bits and Bobs from 'Fair Dinkum Chrissy' and 'We Are'.

I finished off the page with some ink splatters, doodling and some enamel dots.

Thanks for looking

We Are Family | Tamara Buckler

Hey Hey Flutterby Friends,

Tamara back today sharing another super fun layout using the 'We Are' collection - this collection is proving to be soooo versatile and just keeps giving and giving.

I am so in love with this layout, it is so bold and has such high contrast between the 'Organised Chaos' 12x12 paper and the rainbow elements around the page. I cut the word FAMILY out of the background paper using my Silhouette, trying to match the font to one that pops up in the Everyday Etc Cards. I backed FAMILY with various Everyday Etc Cards, creating a reverse rainbow with the colours.

I backed my photo with more of the Everyday Etc Cards, and a frame that I fussy cut. I adhered this directly to the background, as I have popped up the 'We Are' part of the title to give some definition.

I have added in a lot of bits and bobs from this collection, as well as some wood veneer, flair buttons,  snippet strips, and enamel dots. This keeps the rainbow feeling going across the whole page, again working on that contrast and interest.

I even cut out some of the little preview images from the cover sheet in the Everyday Etc Cards. Why have I not thought of this before?!?! It gives you a heap of mini cards to play with! So cute!

I finished off the page with some ink splatters and some squiggly lines around my title.

I seriously love how this page has turned out! I'm on such a role with my layouts at the moment, I've even got my next share ready - love it when a collection just sets your mojo on fire!

Thanks for stopping by!

Big Loves,
Tam xo

We are Crazy | Bernii Miller

Hi Everyone!

Bernii Miller here with you today , with my very first blog post for the amazing Flutterby Team.

I LOVE the " We Are" collection with all its bright colours and amazing patterns!! I am so excited to be playing with all the cool elements so let me show you what I have created this time around.

I had a really hard time just wanting to create with a few colours , so instead I decided to use ALL the colours in this collection. Can you blame me ?

So to help keep it all in check I teamed it with a cut file to help break up the colours and keep some uniformity. I LOVE how it turned out. I used the 3x4 photo card fillers which you can grab from HERE

To then finish off the page I used some cute elements from the Die Cut Bits and Bobs pack which you can grab from HERE to help make the photo stand out a little more. Seriously those packs are the bomb!!

This collection is so versatile and I can't wait to show you what else I have created.

Till next time
Bernii xx

Crazy with my Wifey- Chrissi mannix

Hi Lovelies
Welcome to my first blog post for Flutterby Designs! I'm so excited to be joining the team this year. I absolutely adore the Flutterby style and flair and couldn't wait to share my first project with you all.
This is a picture of my best friend and I, my Wifey causing mischief as we do, this time at Movieworld. I had the bright idea to use the purples and blacks from the Xtreme Teen Collection.
I had this collection out, as I was using it for a project life spread (stay tuned for my next post), and thought it would work great for this picture.
I knew I wanted to use this awesome Flutterby star stencil with some texture paste, and have a block of colour to it. I decided on grey, so I could then add a pop of a bright colour.

I used the Xtreme Teen Every Day Etc cards to layer behind my picture, and to add the colours to my layout- This is where i pull the purple from.

I love making mixed media backgrounds, and throwing paint is one of my favorite things to do. I used some very fluid paint to get my splatters and paint drips. Be warned, it IS a messy process, but oh so much fun lol. Just cover up anything you don't want splattered-like your phone lol.
I love the quotes and phrases in the Every Day Etc cards, and how they can be cut up and used as embellishments and design elements. I love this troublemaker, misfit one. It was just too perfect for this layout. I also used a few tabs from the Sentence Enhancer's Collection to add to my photo layers.

Then I just added my title, using 2 different alpha sets, and a few puffy stars and enamel dots, and I was done. I do love how this turned out, and I hope you liked my first project as part of the 2019 Flutterby DT. I cant wait to share more projects with you.
Untill next time lovelies.

Road Trip | Elisa Ablett

Hi Flutterby Fans,

Elisa here from the new look Design Team with my first post !

I have been super excited to start creating with all the bright and funky Flutterby goodies and came across some 'road trip' products and I immediately thought of the layout I would create.

My layout features the 'Good Vibes Only' collection plus loads of other Flutterby products.

Let's take a closer look at the finer details 😀

I started with a background created with Distress stains, stamping with Viva Las Vegas Stamps and blending ink through Flutterby Designs 'bright-like-a-diamond-stencil'.

I also fussy cut some elements from the 'Good-vibes-only-everyday cards' to build a scene along with some layered 'good-vibes-only-filler-cards' and 'wood-veneer' bits and pieces.

Add some distressed sewing (ahem... ok terrible sewing) and a cute little flair-button, some wood veneers and a few splatters here and there!

I also like to get some use out of my old circle punches.

Layer your elements so they flow across your page over the background you have created.

Make use of your stored up snippet-strips - neutral colours to add that extra layer over your elements.

Don't be afraid to try your photo and elements on an angle, I cut a photo in two (palm trees and sky) and added that to my photo cluster to continue with telling my story on the page and then decided to give them all a little twist to add visual interest.
Play around with your design before you stick it down!

That's it from me today, thanks for stopping by the blog and
sharing my excitement for my first post as part of the team!

Wishing you all a Happy New Year as well, let's all do some fabulous things in 2019 !

Hugs

We Are Crazy | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
As you have likely already seen with the recent announcement of the new Flutterby design team, after over two years as a member of the DT, the time has come for me to step down. I can't explain what a difficult decision it was to make, but I felt it was time to make room for some fresh faces and inspiration. I have loved every minute of being part of this team and flying the Flutterby flag.

So without further ado, here is my final project share - a fun, 12x12" layout created with the recently released 'We Are' collection...

I began this page with some fun photos of my daughter and her friend that were taken when they attended a circus skills workshop during the school holidays. I used one of the papers called 'We Are' from the 12x12" paper pack and applied some Arctic White Flutter Colour paint with a brayer to cover some of the pattern in the focal area of my page.

I then took some of the 'We Are' Everyday Etc filler cards and layered them to create a mat for my photos. I also added some scrap cardboard to the back of my photos to help pop them up from the page. I tucked one of the 'We Are' page tabs in behind my photo as well.

The large camera and the we are title words were all fussy cut from some of the 'We Are' Everyday Etc cards. The word crazy was from the 'We Are' Sticky Quotes sheet, as was the we're all mad here sticker I used near the top of the page.

The little emoji faces I used around the page to help tie in the blue colour were fussy cut from one of the coordinating filler cards, along with the yellow chevrons I placed to help draw the viewers eye into the photos.

The funny quote I added underneath my photos was from the 'We Are' Everyday Etc card pack, and was a perfect supporting sentiment for this page theme. (Both these kids would agree with it! hehe)

I thought my layout needed a little more black to help finish it off, so I used the where is my mind? sentiment from Viva Las VegaStamps and stamped it several times around the page with black ink. I also used my Stabilo All pencil to add some small marks and a doodled page border.

Finally, I added a few enamel dots for a little more visual interest, and my handwritten journalling using a Sharpie and I was done.

So that's a wrap on my final layout for Flutterby Designs. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Anita for having me on her team - I love this lady so much! I have had a blast creating with her products alongside so many talented ladies.

Thank you also to everyone for the support and kind words for the work I have produced over the last couple of years. It really makes all the time you put in as a designer worth it when you hear that you inspire other people. I am sure I will still "see" most of you around, and will most likely have some Flutterby creations to share in the Flutterby Inspiration HQ group.
Over & out.
