Oct Guest Designer - Ros Madley 'Be Inspired Be Awesome'

Ros is back with another truely stunning layout!!

'BE INSPIRED BE AWESOME'

"I love look of black against a bright background so for this page I layered on some colour and added black texture through the 'Random Blatherings' stencil. I had to use circles again, just because I have to. This time as well as outlining them with black gesso, I also matted them on black card. For the rest of my layout I have fussy cut different elements from filler cards and a page tab."

Oct Guest Designer - Ros Madley 'Unleash Your Inner Awesome'

Please welcome our October Guest Designer,
Ros Madley!!!

I've been a fan of Ros' work for many years & thrilled she
accepted to guest DT for us.

"I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years. It’s something I never really wanted to do but I went along to a friend’s crop and it was basically hook, line and sinker. I was addicted. I have been a Design Team member for D-lish Scraps, Passion 4 Paper , Chandon Craft and Black with 2, 2Crafty Chipboard and Scrap the Girls. Currently I am on the Kraft Plus Design Team. In 2014 I was lucky enough to named one of the Scrapbooking Memories Masters. It was an amazing year in scrapbooking for me. Scrapping for me has never been about preserving memories, although I do get a bit sentimental when using older photos. For me it’s always just been a creative outlet. Lately I am finding myself reaching for an art journal or a blank piece of cardstock and my trolley of colours, with photos being the last thing on my mind. It's pretty rare I will create a page with patterned paper as a base. I love pretty things and I love paper and glue, paint and lots of messy mediums and can lose myself for hours in my little room."

 'UNLEASH YOUR INNER AWESOME'

"My background was inspired by the veneer pieces.
If there's a place for a circle or three on a page, then I'll do it. The veneers have been painted with Flutter Colour Paint, Monochrome. For my photo cluster, I have cut filler cards into different sizes and roughly edged them all with black gelato to help them stand out and add a bit of dimension."

Eat St | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
Sue Plumb here with you today to share my latest Flutterby Designs project, and this time it's a pocket page spread. For all of those who live in south-east Queensland, you have most likely already heard of the Eat Street Markets that run on Friday and Saturday nights in Brisbane. But for you those of you that haven't, it's been described as the "ultimate foodie extravaganza" - a boutique market that features a fabulous variety of international street food vendors.

I often use pocket pages to document events as it provides the opportunity to include lots of photos.
Here's a look at the whole spread...

As you can see, it's quite busy, with lots of colour; fun elements; and plenty of photos and journaling - just the way I like it!

Here's a closer look at each side...

I used a variety of Everyday Etc cards as the focus for these pages; even cutting some of them up to use as embellishments. I also used Blackboard Sticky QuotesSnippet Stripsflair buttonenamel dotswood veneerrainbow heart stickers"You've Got This" stencil; and photo cut out tabs.

Here's a few close-ups...

I do all my own stunts Blackboard Sticky Quote

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this with you. I hope this has inspired you to get your own Flutterby stash out and get creative! (And if you don't have any stash yet - hit the store HERE and get on it!)
Til next time, happy scrapping! X

Friends are like Stars | Krisy Podolak

Hi Lovelies, It's Krisy and I am here with my first share this month.  Today is it a layout of me and the "Boss Lady" here at Flutterby Designs.  I met Anita in real life earlier this year at the Brisbane Scrapbooking Expo.  We were lucky enough to do Fiona Paltridge's class and had a great time. (That's Fiona in the background - who knows what she is doing?!?) This is one of the many photos we took.

I wanted to use this Friends quote from the Everyday Etc Cards " Partners in Crime" Range, so I used it as my base for inspiration.  I also wanted to use this pink frame so that was my colour scheme decided. Plus it just happened to work with the Flair Button I wanted to use.  Fancy that a range matching and working together.  I used mango orange and pink Gelatos to "smooch" the base of my background.

Then once it was dry, I used my Flutterby Stargazed stencil to trace on some stars.  I then stamped onto the background with a VivaLasVegastamp and some black Stayzon Ink. Oh and at this point I also added a bit of black ink splatter.  I then added all my layers.  I started with my stencil and added things around that.  Behind the photo I added some pink and white paper straws for something a little different and because I wanted to added a softer pink to tie in the pink on the flair button.

To make the flair button a bit more of a feature I set it on top of this yellow and hessian Charms Creations Heart.  I think it finishes the layout nicely.

Just Me by Kylie Cornish

I find sometimes being a scrapbooker, I forget to scrap about myself.
I know that I am not the only one.
We are always the one behind the camera.
But not today, today I was looking fine.
A trip to the hairdresser had revived this tired chick!
It was selfie time!

Be Bold | Sue Plumb

Hi Flutterby peeps!
Sue Plumb here with you to share my latest creation for Flutterby Designs. Today I have a 12x12" mixed media layout that features a photo of my cheeky boys showing me their "tattoos" that they had drawn on each other with textas.

I was inspired to create a messy mixed media background for this layout to fit with the "art" theme of my photo. I also wanted to draw in the paint splotch design from the Everyday Etc card (from the No Excuses range) that I chosen to use as the feature behind my photo.

To create my background, I used several different colours of Flutter Colour paint. I wanted the paint to splatter easily, so I watered it down slightly to make it thinner. Then I set about applying each colour by splattering and flicking it onto my page using a paint brush. In order to make sure I didn't make "mud", I dried each colour thoroughly before applying the next one. After it was dry I also added some stamping with black ink to give the background more depth and character.

As I already mentioned, I used an Everyday Etc card from the No Excuses range behind my photo. I also used another card from the same range to fussy cut my Be Bold title from. As there was no purple on my background, I wanted to add some purple elements to help tie in with colours in the title. So I used one of the coordinating No Excuses Filler Cards and cut it up to add the purple I needed.

Next, I added a flair button (from set #229), which I nested on some messy black cotton thread; and one of the Blackboard Sticky Quotes below my photo. I also added a couple of Snippet Strips around my page.

I then added a few Confetti Circles wood veneer pieces, which I coloured black with my trusty Posca pen and some neon enamel dots.

A few splatters of purple mist and some quick journaling and I was finished.

Thanks for stopping by so I could share this page with you. I will be back in a couple of weeks with another project to share. Until then, happy scrapping! X
