Black is my happy colour - Skai Mitchell

Hey Flutterby peeps,

HOW FREAKING COOL IS THIS NEW RANGE!

I wont lie, I squealed out loud when the Boss lady gave us a sneak peek of the Xtreem Teen range.
Its loud and brash and totally screams me and my family.

Here's my first layout using the new range. I've scrapped this photo before, and its a few years old now (My son is almost a foot taller than me now) but its just so US.

Black, black, and a little blacker...

Ive started my background off with the 'Knucklehead' Stencil and some Dusty Charcoal Colour paste from Colourblast. Add to that some smearings of black gesso, and splatters or white ink and you have a grungy base to work on.

Ive picked out the black-ish pieces from the 'XTREME TEEN - FILLER CARDS' and used the 'Black is my happy colour' card from the 'XTREME TEEN' Everyday Etc Cards. Ive machine stitched around al the pieces to give them some texture, and added in a Halloween napkin I got from Spotlight, and some medical gauze I stained black with Black Stazon.

For my embellishments I've used some of the 'White' Sticky Quotes  and a Star flare from the  'XTREME TEEN' FLAIR BUTTONS - SET 1

Head on over to the SHOP now to get your hands on this super cool new range!

'Hostage Negotiating' by Anita Rodway

Hi there crafty peeps!! I'm back with another share
before Tamara jumps on board. I've been creating
with the latest release 'Xtreme Teen'.
Although I don't have a teenager, my 5yr has
enough attitude to be one LOL.
Here's what I created...

'Hostage Negotiating'

I've gone in with a good smoosh of 'Grape Soda' Flutter Colour Paint & then used the 'Knucklehead'
stencil with some clear glass bead gel.

I added a few more flicks of paint with
'Tropicana Teal' & 'Arctic White' over
my background.

I then started layering on my embellishments.
I created my title using one of the cards
from the 'Xtreme Teen' Everyday Etc Card packs.

Yo dude, with Ros Madley

OMG time flies.  Can't believe I'm back for another share and Easter 2017 has already been and gone.

This month I'm sharing another super quick page that I've created using one of my backgrounds from my gelli printing.  These are super convenient for when I don't have a heap of time, and so are the awesome Filler Cards.

I've used some of the Brights Filler Cards on this page along with a Frame cut out.  The cards have been cut to different shapes and layered under the photo, with the frame on top of this.

I couldn't find the right words I needed for the title so I trimmed some down from the Tiny Quote Stickers.  Xander was thinking he was super cool with his new cap and kept crossing his arms, saying 'Yo Dude'.

A flair button and some more cut up Filler Cards and Enamel Dots, finish off the page.

Hope you've been inspired.

Today | Belinda Spencer

Hi Flutterby peeps!!

Belinda here today to share a layout I created using the awesome Fur-Ever Friends collection.

This time I have focussed on the 'bunny' bits and pieces because conveniently we just had Easter!! Not only that but I decided Easter Sunday was as good a day as any to spend all day in my bunny pyjamas and snapped an instagram photo with this layout in mind. Yep. My mind is always working on the next layout. As it should be. ;-)

'Today' Layout

I have used a Bo Bunny patterned paper for my background and added some gorgeous Flutter Colour Paint in Orange Goldfish and Raspberry Punch. I just love the bright pop of colour against the neutral background.

Next I layered on my filler cards and a couple of co-ordinated paper doilies.

I am loving adding messy embroidery threads to my layouts right now so I have stapled on some colour co-ordinated thread before layering my 3D foam mounted photo on top.

Finally I added all of my embellishments, title and some Sticky Quotes.

Here's what I used:

- Everyday Etc Photo Cards
- Everyday Etc Filler Photo Cards
- Die Cut Bits & Bobs

- Orange Goldfish
- Raspberry Punch

Well that is all from me today. I hope you are feeling inspired to get creating with your own Flutterby stash. Make sure you share your fabulous creations in the Flutterby Inspiration HQ Facebook Group so we can check them out.

Some Bunny Loves You + Shady Cat | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies.

Krisy back today to share with you yet another two layouts using the Fur-ever Friends collection even though I don't have any pets.  I was determined to make a dent in this pile of cards and it's safe to say I have.  I will give you a break for the next few blog posts and return to some other collections for your viewing pleasure.

The first layout I am sharing today is Some Bunny Loves You.

My kids have a thing for Bunny toys and they all have their most favourite toys that are are all bunnies.  Autumn almost always has a bunny in her hand and a thumb in her mouth.  So, I used the Bunny card as embellishments for this page by cutting it up.  I also paired it up with this really pretty paper I have been hoarding.  The layout turned out quite grungy and I am really happy with that. Oh and do you spot the squiggle of green Flutter Colour paint.

Here are a few close ups:

Next up, I have a layout of my friend's cat.  I wrote about Spencer in my last blog post.  This is the original idea I had for a layout about him before circumstances changed and I put together the special layout that I shared back in February.

I really wanted to use the shady cat card from the Fur-ever Friends Collection, so I teamed it up with some alpha tiles and a few layers and BAM!  Layout done.  I also used some Colour Blast Colour Paste through the star Stencil for a bit of a mixed media background.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Turtely Awesome Dude and #4 | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone! It's Sue here today sharing my latest Flutterby projects with you. Today I have a bit of a bonus - a 12x12" mixed media layout AND a pocket page spread. (So bear with me as there are quite a few photos!)

Both these projects were created to document some of my boys' 4th birthday celebrations and I used the same basic colour scheme across each of them to help tie them together. As my boys are both Ninja Turtle crazy, I used lots of the 'Fur-ever Friends' collection, along with various other Flutterby bits and pieces.

First, here is my mixed media layout...

I started by creating a background using some Flutter Colour Paint from the Bright Set (Green Limousine, which I brushed on; then Tropicana Teal drizzled over the top). Once dry, I added stamping, then used the 'Stargazed' stencil and some Colour Blast Colour Paste to add texture over the top; and splattered some navy mist around.

After all my background work was completely dry, I used a couple of Everyday Etc filler cards to create some layers behind my photo to help it pop, along with some messy cotton thread tucked into my layers. I used the Turtely Awesome sticker from the Fur-ever Friends Sticky Quotes to form part of my title, along with the word dude which I cut from one of the cards from the older boy release - Super Cool.

To finish off my page I added some small stars wood veneers, (which I coloured black); a flair button (from set #403); and a white tiny sticky quote which I popped below my title. Then I stamped the date and added my handwritten journaling and it was done.

And now onto my pocket page spread. Here is a look at both pages together...

As you can see, I kept the overall design relatively simple which allowed the photos to stay the focal point; and maintained uniformity across the spread by using lime green as my primary colour, with accents of aqua and black.

Left side...

Right side...

I created my title card using one of the 'Fur-ever Friends' Everyday Etc filler cards. I added a banner which was cut from another card, along with a Snippet Strip (attached with staples); a Blackboard Sticky Quote (which I altered to suit my purpose) and my strip journaling.

I used a few more Snippet Strips around my page; along with the Turtely Awesome card; and some small wood veneer stars that I coloured black.

On the facing page, I used more wood veneer stars; enamel dots; and a flair button (from the 'Mad About You' set #2) as embellishments.

I made a tweak to one of the quotes from the Mad About You collection, adding the word "twins" to suit my purpose.

That's all from me today. I will be back again next month with more Flutterby projects to share.
Until then, happy scrapping! X

Love ya guts superstar, with Ros Madley

Something a little different from me today.  I've used lots of Flutterby Design goodies but there's one thing I didn't use on the page.  Flutterby cards.  I decided to focus just on my embellishments.

My layout features two of my favourite things.  Circles and stars.

The base of my page has been done with a gelli plate.  I have an awesome 12x14 that I can't get enough of so there will be lots more backgrounds made with this.
I finished my background off by adding some texture paste with my Stargazed Stencil.

Because the background was so busy I have coloured the veneer circles with my black big brush.  They've then been layered around my photo and followed the paint markings down the page.

I'm so in love with the Tiny Sticky Quotes.  I've used a few on this page for my title.

And another little sprinkle of stars on the bottom of the page from the Stargazer Stencil.

Hope you've been inspired

Best Friends with Belinda Spencer

Hi Flutterby peeps!!

Belinda here today to share a layout I have created using the awesome Fur-Ever Friends range as well as a bonus card made with the Mad About You range.

'Best Friends' Layout

How cute is that photo of my sweet boy with my darling cat Noodle as a kitten? Cuteness overload I reckon.

For this layout I was inspired by the rainbow stripes in the filler photo card. I swiped some stripes of Flutter Colour paint over my background using a folded up piece of cardstock. To be honest I couldn't find my loyalty card that I usually use in the chaos that is my desk so I improvised! Hey it worked!

I used those same colour paints to add some droplets of colour over the background too. I simply diluted the paints with water and flicked it over the surface with a wet paintbrush.

I used the Hugs & Kisses stencil with a fine waterproof black journalling pen to add some detail to my background. And just to mix things up a bit I used the 'Bubble O' Fun' mini stencil with some white gesso to add some white spots. They didn't show up all that well so I added some white Posca paint pen around the edge of some.

Finally I layered on all of my filler cards, a cute black Doodlebug Designs doily, a fussy cut frame, my photo and all of the embellishments. I love how well that gorgeous rainbow washi tape co-ordinates with the filler card.

Here's what I used:

FUR-EVER FRIENDS:
- Everyday Etc Photo Cards
- Everyday Etc Filler Photo Cards
- Die Cut Bits & Bobs

Enamel Dots Neon
'Snap 2' Fussy Cuts
Flair button
Washi tape
Wood Veneer Page Tabs
Wood Veneer Small Hearts
Bright Tickets
Sticky Quick Quotes
Hugs & Kisses Stencil
Mini Stencils
Flutter Colour Paint:
- Green Limousine
- Orange Goldfish
- Tropicana Teal

Next up is a card I created for my hubby for our 11 year anniversary...on April fool's Day!

'You & Me' Card

I used the Hugs & Kisses Stencil again on this one to create a lovely textured background. Once the molding paste was dry, I spritzed on some water and then used diluted Green Limousine paint to wash the colour over the surface.

And in my usual fashion, I added layer after layer of filler photo cards and embellishments from the Mad About You range.

Naaawww! Isn't that sweet?! I didn't actually write in it or give it to him but the thought was there! LOL

Here's what I used:

MAD ABOUT YOU:
- Everyday Etc Filler Photo Cards
- Die Cut Bits & Bobs
- Polaroid Frames
- Wood Veneer Pack
- Die Cut Bits & Bobs

Enamel Dots Neon
Wood Veneer Page Tabs 2
Hugs & Kisses Stencil
Flutter Colour Paint Green Limousine

Well that is all from me today. I hope you are feeling inspired to get creating with your own Flutterby stash. Make sure you share your fabulous creations in the Flutterby Inspiration HQ Facebook Group. I would love to see them.
