You're My Weirdo by Allara Bamforth

Allara back on the blog today with another fun layout from the Happy Ever After Collection!

So this layout actually started as an extension of the previous layout from May 27th, You are the Stars. All the Flutter Colout Paint - Bright set that I had used on the previous layout, I  applied with a brayer. So after rolling each colour over the my previous page, I cleaned my brayer on the top of my next page - so as not to waste any paint and created a really cool looking distressed back ground down half of the page.

Using the I Heart You Stencil, I've applied some Artic While Flutter Colour Paint across the top of the page and then painted some Raspberry Punch down the side of the white hearts. I then added some stamping on the Raspberry Punch. Pulling out the I Heart You Stencil again I've added some hearts, this time with Black Mayhem Flutter Colour Paint. I've outline the the hears with some White and Black Paints Pens. Next I've dipped the end of paint brush into the Tropicana Teal Flutter Colour Paint to make some dots to create more interest and splattered some of the white paint over the back ground. Then using the All you Need is Love Stencil and my black marker I've added "Love" over the page.

I've then layered my photo with the Everyday Etc Filler Cards and from the 12 x 12 Paper Pack - Happily Ever After Collection and the What Makes us Work page, I have added one of the quotes. Finished it off with the Nuts About You Flair from the Happily Ever After Flair Buttons 2 Pack. And coloured a litle bit of hessian for some texture.

We Are Family | Sue Plumb

Hi Flutterby peeps!

Sue Plumb here today to share another design team project with you. Today, I have a mixed media page that features a fabulous painty background and a mix of collections. This page features a photo of my sister and I that was taken at the Flutterby 'Create by the Lake' retreat. I was really drawn to this photo because of the awesome backdrop we were standing in front of, so I wanted to translate some of that colour and style through to my background.

I started with some white cardstock and Flutter Colour paints - Bahama Blue; Tropicana Teal; Aquamarine Dream; and Green Limousine. I splattered drops of the four colours randomly around before using a brayer to mix and spread the paints vertically on the page. I then dried the paint with a heat gun before applying a small amount of Grape Soda paint to the central focal area of my page and spreading it across horizontally with the brayer. Next, I added a few random spots of Arctic White paint around the page and spread that on top of the other layers to tone the colour back a bit.

Once all the paint had dried; I took some Colour Blast 'Indigo' Colour Spray and used the end of the spray nozzle from the bottle to scribble around on top of the paint to give it more of that "street art" feel. Next, I took the 'You've Got This' stencil, and applied some texture paste through a few of the phrases randomly around the page. Finally, I splattered around some 'Bubblegum' Colour Spray and then set it aside to dry; then added a few scribbles using my Stabilo all pencil.

While the background was drying, I started assembling the pieces that would form the mat for my photo. I used a mix of Everyday Etc cards and filler cards (from the 'Flawsome'; 'Happy Together' and 'No Excuses' collections); which I cut and layered together. Once all the pieces were in place, I added my photo on top.

The we are family title for my page was fussy cut from one the the 'Happy Together' Everyday Etc cards; and I added a small wood veneer heart on top (that I had coloured black with a Sharpie); along with a few other hearts around my page.

To the left of my title, I stuck the love you longtime sticker, from the white Sticky Quotes sheet. Above my photo I added the you & me speech bubble and on my photo I added the you're my person banner (both from the 'Mad About You' Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack.)

To finish my page, I added the good vibes flair button (from set #421), which I nested on some messy cotton thread and a few splatters of white ink around the page.

Hi everyone!

Sue Plumb here, and it's time to share another design team project with you. This 12x12" mixed media page was lots of fun to create - which was partly due to the memories it invoked. These photos were taken at the Flutterby 'Create by the Lake' retreat back in July; and it's fair to say that Anita and I weren't the only ones laughing that day. 

This page was created using a mash-up of items from different collections, and I am so happy with how they all came together. I started with a sheet of white cardstock and applied a blue watercolour wash using a Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dust and a wide brush. I added some drizzles of Tangerine Orange Flutter Colour paint to add some dimension and contrast.

Once the paint had dried, I added some extra contrast using stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps and Typo; then some strips of torn washi tape. With the background done, it was time to create the main portion of the layout.

I cut up some Everyday Etc filler cards from the 'Flawsome' and 'Happy Together' collections to create a layered photo mat, along with some messy cotton thread for texture. I also tucked in a couple of page tabs amongst the layers. Alongside my photos, I added the fantastic wood veneer tab from the 'Flawsome' Wood Veneer Bits pack. 

The quote (I couldn't have chosen a better one for this page!) was fussy cut from an Everyday Etc card from the 'Partners in Crime' collection. I also added a few white Tiny Sticky Quote stickers around my page. 

My cool dude title was created using the cool sticker from the 'Xtreme Teen' Sticky Quotes sheet and the dude wood veneer from the 'Xtreme Teen' Wood Veneer Bits pack. The moustache sticker I added below it was also from the Sticky Quotes sheet.

I created a final embellishment cluster on the right side of my photos using a cog from the 'Xtreme Teen' Wood Veneer Bits pack; the LOL flair button (from set #377) which was nested on some thread; and a few coordinating enamel dots from the Bold set. 

To finish my page off, I stamped the date; added handwritten journaling and a few black splatters.

Lick the Beaters | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies.

Today I am sharing a layout that came about from the Happy Together Cards.  I am a mum and like all mums I have a licking the beaters photo. So I just had to get it printed and Scrapped.

I created a mixed media background using the Flutterby Colour paint, stencils and then added some stamping and layered up all things Flutterbys.

I printed the photos in black and white to allow me to choose my colour scheme. I went with the colours of the cards as inspiration.

Sweetheart | Sue Plumb

Hi Flutterby peeps!
Sue Plumb here with you sharing my latest work for Flutterby Designs. Today I have a layout to share with you featuring a (fairly typical) photo of my partner and I. (Rarely can the man have a "normal" photo with me without some sort of silly face, but hey, that's him...and I love him anyway!)

For this layout I started with a sheet of patterned paper from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I opted to use this dark grey, as I want it to help my colours "pop". On top of the patterned paper, I created a mat for my photo using a selection of Everyday Etc cards. (I love the variety of patterns and colours that can be found in the filler card packs, and I also love the fact that they are always exactly the right shades to coordinate with all my other Flutterby goodies!) I also added some Photo Cut out frames to my layers, for some extra visual interest and depth.

Once I had my base layers in place, I used the "I {heart} you" stencil from the Mini Stencil set and a white gel pen to add some doodled hearts to my background. I then proceeded to drizzle it all with some white Flutter Colour paint. This provided a good contrast to the structured, linear background I had already created.

Whilst my paint was drying, I added some embellishments directly onto my photo - the wood veneer sweetheart word and heart, which were coloured using my Posca pen; and the flair button (from set #249), which I nested on some messy cotton thread. I then fixed my photo in place and proceeded to embellish the rest of my layout.

Above my photo I added a couple of Page Tabs; and to the left of my photo I added a Photo Cut Out tab (from the "Bright Directions Tabs 3" sheet.) I also added some Snippet Strips and bold Enamel Dots around my page.

To finish off, I added a quote from a "Happy Together" Everyday Etc card, which I cut into strips to apply; and then I added some Rainbow Heart stickers randomly across my page.
