Life is TOO Important to be taken SERIOUS | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies,

It's Krisy back again for my second share this month.  Today, I'm sharing a Scrapbooking Layout using the New Everyday Etc " Drama Queen" Cards as the main inspiration.

I have had this photo of my daughter printed for just about a year and were just waiting for the right layout for it.  Every parent has a photo like this I think.  It is also popular as a lock screen on an iPhone. When I saw the "Life is too Important to be taken Serious" card, I knew it was the right time to use this photo.

The background I was inspired by the cut circles from the Wild Bohemian Kit and created a bubble background using watercolours to start with but I found that they didn't pop as much as I wanted to I layered them with Gelatos and then some texture paste through the "You spin me Right Round" Stencil.

I used the same stencil on the background with a light spray of Shimmer mist.  It creates another layer to the background although in the photos it looks a bit dirty when in actual real life it is shiny silver.

The wood veneer in the kit is pretty awesome too, I definitely need more. You can order these on their own too just have a look here.  I also used a DIY flair but I decided to keep it plain so that it popped out against the busy background.  To add some more circles to the layout I threw in a few Enamel dots.

There is no process video today...I did have one but I thought I had downloaded it off the camera and cleared it to work on the next layout.  It turns out I only thought I did and it couldn't be retrieved.  But I'll make sure there is one next time I share.

FEBURARY GUEST DESIGNER - SUE PLUMB

Our second Guest Designer for the year is the none other than
the gorgeous, Sue Plumb! Sue & I have never met IRL, but I know
that we would hit it off straight away! We both have a cheeky streak that
shines thru (even online LOL) I have been a fan of Sue's work for many year's
& was ecstatic she said yes to Guest Designing for Flutterby.

Sue Plumb
"I am a SAHM of three (daughter Brielle, 7 and twin sons Hunter and Kaden, 3) and live in the gorgeous Glass House Mountains in Queensland.
I have been scrapping for approximately 7 years, having started after the birth of my daughter. I took an extended break after the premature arrival of my boys, and these days my biggest scrapping struggle is trying to find time with two rowdy bo
ys underfoot!
I currently design for Australian manufacturer Cocoa Vanilla Studio (online store), D-Lish Scraps
(online store), Scrap the Boys challenge blog, and Show Us Your Stuff challenge blog. I have also had work published regularly in Scrapbooking Memories magazine. I recently started working part-time at my local scrap shop Joybells Scrapbooking, which also gives me opportunity to create as well as providing some much needed time out of home.
My style can best be described as varied - sometimes it may be clean and linear, and at other times messy and eclectic. What can I say? I like to keep things interesting!
I am so thrilled that Anita asked me be a guest designer for Flutterby Designs, as I have been a fan of her products since the very beginning! I hope I can inspire you with what I have created."

#this is awesome by Kylie Cornish

Thanks to the Amazing Anita, who is writing up my
second blog post for the month as the
Cornish family are Internet-less and phone-less
for the God knows how long.....long story!!

I can share my sneak peek I posted the other
day on the Facebook Flutterby Design HQ site.
You finally get to see the whole thing! When ever I get my Flutterby stash out I always know I'm going to love the
layout I created!

#this is awesome
The one thing I love about Flutterby Designs is
the out of the box flair and the wood bits.

Tell me where can you find flair that is perfect for
every moment in our lives. It can be as simple as a
catch phrase or even an image of and old cassette
that helps bring back good teenage memories.

Then there is the wood bit! Oh how Devine are these! Fantastic for titles or a quote expressing how you feel about the image you have just scrapped.

So to top off an amazing night seeing a teenage
idol I now thanks to Flutterby have a layout to
treasure that moment!

Express by Sharmaine Kruijver

Flutterby Design Stencils come in lots of cool designs
and it is always a dilemma about which one to use!

For this page I decided to use the "On The Plus Side"

I added some appropriately worded flair

Ripped one Everyday Etc card and added two cut ones.

I cut a page tab and added that, for extra sentiment.

Have you added a Flutterby Design Stencil to your stash yet?
What Flutterby Design stencil is your "go-to"?
Pull out a few and get creating

An Art Journal Page | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies.
How quick is this year flying already.  This is the first of my February shares.  I love a bit of Art Journalling so I've put together and Art Journal page.  I only just rediscovered my passion for Art Journalling last year after not touching it since I finished high school.  It woke up something in me that has helped me expand the techniques I use in my Scrapbooking too.

For this layout I'm using the Flutterby Stencils "Random Blatherings" and the "Bright Like A Diamond".  The Flutterbys products are so versatile and can be used outside of scrapbooking you just need to think outside the box a bit.  Think off the page projects, canvas' as well as art journalling and whatever else tickles your fancy really.

There isn't much to explain about this page.  It was all about the textures, colours and of course the words.  I didn't want to use the full stencil so I used washi tape to mask off the lines that I didn't want to use and then used a palette knife to apply some coloured texture paste.

I've put together a process video for you to watch this Journal Page come to life so head over to Popleopod on YouTube and have a look.  Don't forget to subscribe and let me know what you think.

Drama Queen Range.. Check it out!

Hi Everyone!

Today I thought Id share my most recent layout for Flutterby Designs where I've had a dabble with some mixed media moves.

Using the new release 'Drama Queen' range I created this layout to highlight an important milestone - Katie's first netball game..

One thing I love about mixed media is that everything kinds works. Splatters of coloured paint seen to fall perfectly and matched with same free hand journaling .. well it all comes together.

You have got to love the new release chipboard pieces also.. a day of the week and the cutest camera I have used on this layout - two versatile pieces.

I hope this layout inspires you to get a little mixed media messy with the new Drama Queen range!

Lauren xx

Family Favourite by Sharmaine Kruijver

Sometimes a little colour is all that you need.
A little monotone or a little not.

Finding the right colours for you page is important

As is finding the right words

But what do you do when you have the right colour but not the right words??
You alter it with stickers!

Right words, wrong colour??
Grab your trusty sharpie pen.

These Everyday Etc cards were the right words AND colour

And so was this one, which I cut for a better fit.

So no more excuses.
Look through your supplies
Buy some new ones
And get creating!
