Dreamer | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies.

Krisy back today sharing a layout inspired by a recent Scrapbooking Memories Magazine theme I saw.  I didn't get it finished in time to submit it.  But it turned out really great.  The theme was inspiration from everyday events/scenes.

This is a photo I took of my daughter, Poppy's, hair.  For weeks every time she had a shower her hair would go like this.  I loved it.  Doesn't it look like feathers?!

For this layout I used a whole heap of cards from the Wild Bohemian Collection.  I cut them up and used them to matte the photo as well as to become embellishments.

Here are some close ups:

There is a process video for your viewing pleasure.  Head over to POPLEOPOD on YouTube and check it out.

Thanks for looking today.

My Crazy Tribe by Belinda Spencer

Hello Flutterby peeps!!

Belinda here today to share two layouts featuring some fabulous Flutterby Designs product.

Let's get started with a layout I created using the latest 'Mad About You' collection.

'Crazy Together' Layout

For this layout, I was totally inspired by one of Anita's filler cards which is the one directly under my photo. It is a book paper one with lovely big circles of bright pink, blue and green. This was my inspiration for my background.

I started by spritzing my background with water before spraying on Kaisermists in Pink, Lime Green and Aqua. I added more water to make lovely pools of colour on my layout. After drying with a heat gun, I then used Golden Light Molding Paste with the I {heart} you mini stencil to add another layer of interest to my background.

I love this photo of my hubby and kids being their crazy selves for the photo. I printed it off in black and white so that it wouldn't compete with my technicolour layout and so that it would stand out from it.

I have layered several filler cards from the Mad About You range underneath and added some crazy embroidery thread in matching colours too.  We are huge The Big Bang Theory fans so of course I had to use that fabulous flair button!

Here's what I used:

MAD ABOUT YOU:

Next up is a layout I created using the gorgeous 'Wild Bohemian' range.

'My Tribe' Layout

I have created another watercolour effect background using mists and water inspired by the colours in Anita's filler cards. This time I used the 'On The Plus Side' Stencil to add some yellow paint plus signs to my background.

Here's what I used:

Thankyou so much for stopping by the blog and checking out my creations today. I do hope you feel inspired to grab your Flutterby stash and have a play too.

Cheers

Be Awesome Today!

Helloooo Arty peeps!!!

Skai here with my first ever blog post as a Flutterby Designs girl.... Ekkkk, you have no idea how long I've been counting this day down.

I've got for you today a layout I made the day the awesome Boss Lady Anita announced the 2017 design team. So for me to keep a layout on the down low for a whole month nearly killed me...lol... I'm a maker and same day sharer.

This pretty much encapsulates my 'thing' that makes my style mine. Lots of layers, messy splatters, dark overtones and machine stitching! I use my trusty Janome on everything.

I'm a self confessed over sharer, and document all the good, bad and ugly parts of my life. I'm looking forward to sharing my art with you and would love your feedback, good and bad (I promise I can take it) and for you to join us in using these amazing products Anita has designed for us all.

My layout began on a base of Marshmallow heavy weight card stock. I started off using the Random Blatherings stencil and using a sponge inked it using some Distress inks.
Next I've watered down some of the Flutterby Colour Paintin the blues and using a pipette have just dumped a whole heap onto the page and using s straw have blown it out in different directions. This is one of my fave techniques at the moment to get that real messy, splattered effect.

Next I've use the paint straight out of the bottle and added a layer of thick splatters. Give this all some drying time and get working on your layers.

Ive used a bunch of random papers from the Wild Bohemian Everyday Etc Cards and Wild Bohemian - Filler cards and inked around the edges with black Stazon. To add more texture Ive also machine stitched up and down the page and around the 'Be Awesome Today' today circle.

To finish it off I've added some Blackboard Sticky Quotes and inked the edges with more black Stazon to give it a real dark, grungy feel.

I hope you like my first share with you all... I promise ive got some awesome, messy, textural and REAL life layouts coming to inspire you in the coming weeks.

Cheers - Skai

Life is a Great Big Canvas | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies,  It's Krisy here and I'm back to share a mixed media layout I created using the new Flutter Colour Paints.  These are my favourite new thing at the moment and I am trying to incorporate them in to all of my layouts.

For this layout I took inspiration from one of the Everyday Etc Wild Bohemian cards that has a messy mixed media background and I used my Gelli Plate to try and recreate something similar.  I added in some extra colours using my Kaisercraft paints and the colours worked well together.  Using the paints side by side I did realise the Flutterby Colour paints have a bit more body than the Kaisercraft ones as they are quite watery.  Something I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't used them on the same layout.

To add more textures and messes to the background, I used the Flutterby stencils as a stencil and then turned them over and used them as a stamp also.  It is a great way to add more interest to the page. I also used Bubble wrap as a stamp and cardboard tubes.  Over the top of it all, I added some of Anita's signature paint swirls.  Then I layered on the embellishments. There is some Gyprock tape for more texture, some wood bits, page tabs and a flair button.

I really love how the background turned out and I am going to attempt something similar in my art journal.

As always there is a process video on my YouTube channel - POPLEOPOD but this one is just a process video of the background.  I thought the layout was fairly simple enough to see how it was put together.  Head over and have a look and let me know what you think!

May Guest Designer - Tarrah Mclean 'Wild Thing'

Tarrah is back to share another layout...

Some of the elements in the Flutterby Wild Bohemian range
are so pretty and they matched perfectly with some of the products in
the Simple Stories 'So Fancy' collection so I decided to create a layout
about me for this one!

'WILD THING'

"As soon as I saw the dream catcher die cut in the So Fancy pack, I just knew I had to put the 'Chase Your Dreams' flair button over it. I layered lots of the Wild Bohemian Photo cards to the right of my photo and included 2 more Wild Bohemian Photo Cut Out Tabs. I also added the Flutterby Gold Foil 'True Story' flair button and I just love those chippie feathers as an added touch, I finished the layout with some splatters of white mist."

I am so excited to be guest designing for Flutterby Designs this term….thank you

so much for having me Anita! I hope you will find some inspiration in my work
using Anita’s amazing products!

'1ST DAY @ KINDY'

For this layout I used loads of Flutterby goodies together with some Maggie Homes/Crate Paper products. I firstly started my school themed layout by cutting a circle from white cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo, this created a hole in the centre of my page where I then backed the busy Crate paper patterned paper.

Flutterby Designs products used:
'Wild Bohemian' Everyday Etc Cards
'Wild Bohemian' PageTabs
Yellow Polaroid Cut Out
Enamel Dots
'Regret Nothing' Flair Button from set no.286
'Be Brave' Flair Button from set no.380
'Stitched Circles 3' Wood Veneer

Close ups...

'DREAM BIG'

The inspiration for this layout came from the colours and the circles
in the pillow my gorgeous niece is sleeping on! I knew I just had to create a sleeping themed layout and the Flutterby Designs products I used were a perfect fit for the theme! I recreated the circle elements by flicking some different coloured mists around my page, adding some of the Flutterby enamel dots and also by using the strips of patterned paper top and bottom.

I cut some of the Wild Bohemian Everyday Etc Cards up and layered lots of them together underneath my photo. I added the 'Stitched Circles 2' wood veneer, 3 of the Wild Bohemian Page Tabs and also added some thread undereath the Flutterby 'I'm  a Dreamer' Flair button. That big black arrow was cut with black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo, I love how that added a bit more black to the bottom half of my page.

April Guest Designer - Paula Perry 'Hello Love'

Paula is back with another creation using the 'Wild Bohemian' Everyday Etc card pack.
Loving all the movement in this layout!

'HELLO LOVE'

Paula was drawn to the circular design of the wood veneer so she created lots of circles with the 'Wild Bohemian' photo cards...it's such a fun & vibrant pack, so she had to use some silly photos of her daughter to match.

There's one more creation of Paula's to come - so stay tuned!!

Introducing our April Guest Designer - Paula Perry 'Love This'

This lovely lady has always been a fantastic Flutterby supporter & I am
thrilled to introduce you to Paula :)

Paula has created a few layouts, that I will be sharing over the next few days.
Her is a bit about her...

"Hello, I'm Paula Perry from beautiful Sydney! I've been scrapping for too many years to remember, after being invited to a Creative Memories party by my sister in law. I've always loved photography & keeping memories, so this was a lovely way to combine the two. I've now been married to my gorgeous man for over 25 years & have 3 scarily grown up kids, who have always been my inspiration & reason for recording our lives. Apart from that, I really do love the creative process of scrapbooking, with my love of stencils, paint & mists, it's a much needed creative outlet for me. If you know my work, you'll know about my love of Flutterby Designs flairs, so I am absolutely thrilled to be joining as Guest Designer this month. The range just gets bigger & better all the time...thank you so much Anita!"

'LOVE THIS'

I've mixed paint with texture paste with my stencil, with the addition of paint it was more 'fluid' so did 'bleed' a bit, but I still love the 'messy' results. I so love these word stencils, they include such uplifting, inspirational words...so perfect for all sorts of backgrounds.
I also love the wood veneers which I've left plain, they simply look good untouched.

I also adore the design of 'Wild Bohemian' photo cards, leaving one of the cards whole to show off it's design, layering others under my photo.

Life is TOO Important to be taken SERIOUS | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies,

It's Krisy back again for my second share this month.  Today, I'm sharing a Scrapbooking Layout using the New Everyday Etc " Drama Queen" Cards as the main inspiration.

I have had this photo of my daughter printed for just about a year and were just waiting for the right layout for it.  Every parent has a photo like this I think.  It is also popular as a lock screen on an iPhone. When I saw the "Life is too Important to be taken Serious" card, I knew it was the right time to use this photo.

The background I was inspired by the cut circles from the Wild Bohemian Kit and created a bubble background using watercolours to start with but I found that they didn't pop as much as I wanted to I layered them with Gelatos and then some texture paste through the "You spin me Right Round" Stencil.

I used the same stencil on the background with a light spray of Shimmer mist.  It creates another layer to the background although in the photos it looks a bit dirty when in actual real life it is shiny silver.

The wood veneer in the kit is pretty awesome too, I definitely need more. You can order these on their own too just have a look here.  I also used a DIY flair but I decided to keep it plain so that it popped out against the busy background.  To add some more circles to the layout I threw in a few Enamel dots.

There is no process video today...I did have one but I thought I had downloaded it off the camera and cleared it to work on the next layout.  It turns out I only thought I did and it couldn't be retrieved.  But I'll make sure there is one next time I share.
