January Guest Designer - Marta Łapkowska

Introducing Marta Łapkowska

The lovely Marta & I have been friends on facebook for a few years & I have always
been amazed by talent. I was THRILLED when Marta agreed to come on board as
to do a Guest Designer spot for Flutterby. She is on quite a few big name DT's,
so I was super nervous watching her create with my products
(the feeling was kind of like watching some else cuddling your newborn
for the first time LOL)
So without any further adieu...

"My name is Marta Lapkowska (Maremi's Small Art). I was born and raised in Poland.
I am currently living in Ireland and have been for the last ten years. My inner soul is truly
a creative person. Since I remember I have loved art and craft and have a passion for innovative techniques. I love playing around, experimenting and creating unique pieces. From cards and tags to layouts, assemblage art, mix media canvases, art journals and altered objects. I love sharing my passion through my YouTube channel were I regularly share new project tutorials. Recently I started my Art Vlogs where I talk about important
and interesting scrappy news, additionally you can see products introductions and reviews. For the past three years creating is my way of living - so far it's the best journey I could have imagined"

Remember 6 - Lauren Hender

Well I have to say Flutterby Designs has done it again creating another fabulous range.

When I saw these photos of my little girl bowling at her 6th birthday party I couldn't wait to get this new range out and start creating.

With coordinating flairs, chipboard and photo tabs this range means that you can create a complete layout without searching for coordinating extras for your project.
I just added some splashes of acrylic paint to add an extra
layer to my project.

I hope this layout has inspired you to use Flutterby Designs new released bohemian range.

Just Like Me - A Scrapbooking Layout | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies,
It's Krisy here and it's my turn to share a creation with you.  This is a scrapbooking layout inspired by one of the cards in the new Everyday Etc "Wild Bohemian" photo cards.

I used the card as inspiration for my mixed media background and then used the actual card a a matte for the photo.  This photo is one of my daughter eating cake batter.  This is one of my favourite things to do especially being an adult, no one can tell me not to.  Although my husband just about dry retches at the thought and my mum still tells me not to.  I printed the photo in black and white as the colours clashed with my background and I think it stands out so much more against the background.

There are many layers to the background.  I wanted it to look like the card with paint splatters and a mish mash of colours. It's all about building the layers on top of each other and having the patience for it to dry.  I also used the "Got Letters" Stencil to add extra details. The stencils in the Flutterbys store are fantastic to use and easy to clean. It takes a bit of patience but it turned out fantastic.

I finished the layout off with a few details...a flair button from the 149 set and then a cute little ticket that I made into a flag. I also forgot there is a tab thrown in there too,

I've also put together a process video so if you want to see how to build the layers yourself - head on over to my YouTube Channel - Popleopod and check out.

Hot Chocolate by Sharmaine Kruijver

Some of you would have already received your new Flutterby Designs products.
Have you had a chance to play?
I just love the new stencils
And went a little starry eyed for this one.

I layered up some wood bits

Adding a flair and enamel dots
(because I love them both equally!)

A little bit of scissor action,
Cutting out a Page Tab

And I cut an Everyday Etc Card into strips
And layered them behind my photo.

Happy creating

Right Now | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Beauties,
It's my turn to take the reins of the Flutterby blog and share my very first Design Team Creation.
I'm so freaking excited to be apart of this team and can't wait to show you what I can do with these beautiful products Neet has created.

This layout I created using a photo I have had printed for over a year and sitting in a pile on my desk but I just couldn't decide what to do with it.  It was taken on my Husbands birthday when we were still a family of four.  The photo is a little bit of a fun one with everyone singing 'Happy Birthday', so when I received my 'Everyday Etc' cards 'daily record' set, I knew what I wanted to do.

I took the card with the drawings on it and used it a matte stack behind my photo.  I cut it into random sizes and stacked them behind the photo.  I love the drawings they are just so funky.

To make the layout mine, I used a bit of mixed media Colour Blast paste through a diamond stencil from my stash to add a bit of colour to the background.  Then I added my signature texture - gyprock tape and thread.

To tie in a bit of birthday, I used some paper straws cut in half. I cut them in half to prevent bulk to the page.  Finally my title is some wood veneer that I half inked and applied some Colour Blast embossing powder.  The trick here is to apply two layers - it makes the colour pop more.

The final touch is the #happy flair.  I LOVE FLAIR! oh and a page tab and enamel dots.

And that all from me today - I will be back towards the end of the month with a little something else I have been working on.

Go Sarah Go by Kylie Cornish

I'm back! its my turn again!

WOW hasn't the work by the girls been amazing so far...See I said I felt very lucky to been on a DT team with such talented ladies and there is still more to come.

What is your thought process to creating a layout??
Do you grab the embellishments first or the Photo/Photos?

I normally grab the photo/s firsts and then the embellishments next.
The one great thing with Flutterby Designs, is that there are a great variety of embellishment to use and in my awesome Flutterby stash I can grab the embellishments I need straight away.

I truly love using the 6x4" Photo Cut Outs with Matt finish. These are great for adding layers to your scrapbook layouts without the bulk. Just cut them out with scissors.

Every Flair you purchase from Flutterby Designs is hand made.

1.5mm thick Baltic Birch Veneer  is what the wood bits are made from and all of the designs are EXCLUSIVE to Flutterby Designs.

Flutterby Design Products used on this layout are.

WOOD BITS - Wood Veneers 9  Confetti Circles

So I personally believe no mater what project you are making, Flutterby will have what you are looking for.

I really look forward to sharing my next creation with you all.

Happy scrapping

'Super Star Everyday' By Lauren Hender

Oh my goodness.. It is 2016 and I am sharing my first DT project for the year.
I am so excited about the year ahead. I hope you all are too.

Flutterby Flairs, Chipboard, photo tabs and everyday etc cards have come together in this layout to celebrate my beautiful boy graduating year 6 and on to high school.

I used lots of layers to create one main cluster and a small cluster section.

Be confident with your journaling. It is important to share the memories and showcase your hand writing.

I hope your new year is fabulous and your hopes for 2016 come true.

Lauren xo
