GUEST DESIGNER - LAUREN TOMECEK

Hello Flutterby peeps! Lauren here :)

I am so excited to be guest designer for March for Flutterby Designs and get the chance to work with the amazing 'Good Vibes Only' collection. Since it's a beachy/tropical collection, I pulled out my Hawaii girl's trip photos to start working with but quickly decided on a photo of the four of us before we set of on a zip-lining tour.

I pulled out all of the green elements from the Everyday Etc Cards and Filler cards, as well as some neutral/ black and white cards for contrast. With a bit of creative cutting and positioning, I created the photo mat and title. Some washi tape and a Page Tab were added to the left side for more interest. The 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' element from the Photo Cut Ou Frame 50 sheet was perfect to add on the right because I was so anxious about doing this tour, given I really don't like heights!

The background is a couple of different green acrylic paints smeared over the page with a pallet knife. once that dried I use white acrylic paint to create the zig zags. Green mist was flicked over the page and gold mica flakes adhered randomly.

I used up some of the scraps from the Everyday Etc Cards  and more washi tape to create a secondary embellishment cluster in the top right to balance the layout. The quote 'always take the scenic route' was chosen because the views from the zipline were just incredible.

A couple more embellishments were added then I used a black pen to draw a loose border around the whole thing and it was done! Thanks for looking

Barefoot + Free by Allara Bamforth

Hello!

Excited to back on the Flutterby Blog this month with the fabulous new 'Good Vibes' collection. I attended a scrapbooking retreat last weekend and was so thrilled to be able to whip out so many pages with this collection because it is so fun and versatile.

I have some beautiful beach photos from our holiday in January and have used this next one in particular as the water at the beach was the most amazing aqua I had ever seen! I really wanted to incorporate these colours into my layout.

I've selected a 12 x 12 watercolour paper base page - as I like how the dylusions inks and lindy's gang inks sit and flow on it and covered the left hand side with clear transparent gloss medium of the new Aloha Stencil. I picked some of my favourite colours to complement the photo from the above mentioned inks.

I have used some Flutterby Paint to sponge throught the Aloha stencil to create some extra accents. Then I've used a variety of embellishments from the Good Vibes collection as listed below.

"Family Adventure" by Rachel Dutko

Hi everyone

I'm so excited to be guest designing at Kraft Plus 
this month representing Flutterby Designs!

Here is a look at this month's challenge-

To begin my page I applied some acrylic paint through a 'Sugar Sprinkles' stencil. 
Once it was dry I roughly traced around each shape to give it more of a hand-drawn feel.

The brief was fussy-cutting as well as the sketch, so I decided to fussy cut my photo! 

I also fussy cut a frame from a "Super Cool' Everyday Etc card, and the cool sneaker, 
also from the "Super Cool"  Everyday Etc card pack.

I backed my photo with some Everyday Etc filler cards from the Fair Dinkum Chrissy collection. I've used the 'Family' die cut from the Fair Dinkum Chrissy Bits & Bobs pack as my title.

I've also added some wood veneer 'Wheels', which I painted black.

I've added a 'Life Is Good' and a camera flair, labels, a couple of page tabs 
('fabulous', and 'you're awesome'), enamel dots and some snippet strips.

Good Vibes Only | Tamara Buckler

Hey Hey Flutterby friends,

How awesome is it when you get new goodies to play with?! I was so excited to receive my DT pack full of the new Good Vibes Only collection, and couldn't wait to get my hands dirty! This range is full of beautiful, bright colours, and bold, fun patterns.

I was lucky enough to receive the 'Migraine Madness' stencil in my kit, which actually reminded me of patterns that you see through a kaleidoscope, and it inspired me to bring in all the bright colours from the collection.

I used a thin black sharpie and drew around each section of the stencil, going back over the lines afterward in a more free hand style. I repeated this method up and down diagonally across the page. I watered down some Flutter Colour Paint in Raspberry Punch, Orange Goldfish, Bahama Blue, and Green Limousine, and filled in the pieces of the stencil randomly, not taking too much care to be stay within the lines (total rebel!). I used the watered down paint to flick splatters across the page too.

I then started to layer up some of the Everyday Etc Filler Cards from the Good Vibes Only collection behind my photo, finishing with a layer of fun foam to pop up my photo. I tucked in one of the phrase stickers from Good Vibes Only Sticky Quotes, and added in one of the super cute wood veneer hearts.

To create my title I fussy cut 'Good Vibes Only' out of one of the Everyday Etc Cards and again popped it up on foam tape (this was not a fun job!). I love that the Everyday Etc Cards give you so many title options!

I finished up the page with a few more phrase stickers, wood veneer pieces, and of course a flair button for good measure!

Beach Fun | Belinda Spencer

Belinda here today to share my first post for March featuring the stunning new Good Vibes Only Collection.

'Beach Fun' Layout

How awesome is that background paper?!! I LOVE it. In fact the whole paper pck in this range is to die for.

I swiped some gesso over my background paper with a palette knife. Once dry, I stencilled on some gorgeous frangipanni flowers using  the 'Aloha' Stencil and  some Tropicana Teal Flutter Colour Paint. I let that dry before tidying up the edges with a white Sharpie and then doodling around the flowers with a black journalling pen.

I added lots of layers below my photo using some of the fabulous co-ordinating Everyday Etc Filler Cards as well as a 'Honey' Fussy Cut.

I finished by decorating with enamel dots, page tabs, a flair button, wood veneer and more.

Fuck This | Sue Plumb

Sue Plumb here to share my latest design team project with you.

(And I should probably warn you - it features my favourite "sentence enhancer" too.) 

As you may know, the brand new 'Good Vibes' collection was released earlier this week (find all the newest stock in store HERE); so while I was waiting for it to hit my doorstep, I decided to use up some of my older bits and pieces. I had this fabulous photo of my boys on their first day of school that was begging to be scrapped (quite obviously one was more impressed with school than the other was! haha).

I started this page by smearing some Sunshine Yellow Flutter Colour Paint on white cardstock using an old gift card; then I built up the layers on my page using some stamps and black ink.

I then added some Xtreme Teen Everyday Etc filler cards, that I layered together to form a mat for my photo. I also added a ticket from the Xtreme Teen Tickets pack, which I secured with small staples.

It was quite clear what was going through my son's head when I took this photo, so I figured it would make the perfect title for my page. I used (my very last) fuck wood veneer, which I coloured black and paired with some Cocoa Vanilla Studio black alpha stickers.

Below my photo, I added the quote card which was from the Xtreme Teen Everyday Etc card pack - it worked so perfectly for my school photo! Under the quote card I added a phrase sticker from the Blackboard Sticky Quotes; and I also added a few bold enamel dots around my page.

To finish my layout I added a Charms Creations star, which I topped with the fuck this flair button from the Sentence Enhancers flair button set. I also added some wood veneer stars, that I coloured black and placed around my page.

 I am so happy with how this page came out - I am sure it will give my boys a laugh in the future!

GUEST DESIGNER - FIONA JELLIE

Hi, it's Fiona again with my last project. I hope you enjoy it.

My starting point was the vintage photo and a fabric doiley I had in my stash.

First, I put a narrow border of two layers of white tissue paper followed by one of the 'We Run The World' Everyday Etc Filler Cards, white brick, around the photo. I then bordered the left side of the photo with a scrap of silk ribbon layered with some lace.

Wanting to add more colour, I used more Everyday Etc Cards on the top, bottom and right hand side of the photo. I went for torn, uneven edges to add more texture and to contrast with the straight edges of the photo.

At this stage I put the doiley underneath it, and using straight stitch, sewed it down with my sewing machine. If you were doing this it would be easier to sew each layer separately.

I then trimmed the doiley to a pleasing size. I added blue sari silk underneath the whole thing, letting it pop out from the edges and be seen through the details of the doiley. This was followed by some thin wadding. I then used the sewing machine to stitch around the edges of the doiley to attach the fabrics and wadding together.

At the top left hand corner I used stranded cotton to make three cross stitch crosses and some colonial knots.

At the bottom right hand corner I clustered a wheel wood veneer,  some words from 'We Run The World' Polaroid Frame, Page Tabs and Tropical Snippet Strips. These were attached with hand or machine stitching. I glued a Flair Button from WRTW Set 2 onto the wood veneer. Again, I sprinkled some hand stitched colonial knots and a cross around it.

Finally, I added a WRTW Page Tab to the right side of the photo. Again, I used the sewing machine to attach it to the project. I finished the piece by sewing some fabric to the back of the project to neater it and give it more support.

I decided to attach my hanging to a wire hanger so I can display it on a wall. It could easily be made into a page for an album or put into a journal.
