Together Love | Allara Bamforth

Good Morning!

Allara here on the blog today with a quick stash busting layout using some bits and bobs of my favourite Flutterby Collections with a photo of myself and my soon to be 18 year old daughter when she is just 5 months old.

To start this layout I have chosen some Distress Oxide Inks and painted them on in a watercolour fashion, so that they blend together. I swiped the ink on my background mat first then spritzed with water and placed dircctly onto my white cardstock. The oxide inks blend beautifully together and also remain quite vibrant. I heat set them and then flick some of the colours over the top as well.

Next I've used the Art Foamie Noughts and Crosses stamp and just very faintly used some of the distress oxide to stamp over this background, I didn't want anything to prominent. Using a white Paint Marker I'ved traced around a couple of the noughts and crosses so they stand out.

The basis of my design was built from the 'Love' Strip I cut from the 12 x 12 Forever and Ever paper from the Happily Ever After Collection.

From the 12 x 12 Cut out sheet from the We Are collection I've cut out the Heart card and then matted that with various Everyday Etc cards which colout co-ordinated with my design.

A few stickers from the 'Sticky Quick Quotes' from the We Are collection were also used as well as the title 'Together' and couple of hears stuck around the page.

Once again with Flutterby Designs products I was able to produce a lovely quick and impressive layout without spending hours trying to come up with an elaborate design. These pages just seem to come together so quickly as all the pieces from different collections just seems to blend together.

Howdy peeps!

Welcome to October and happy Monday! (If you are smack-bang in the middle of school holidays like we are here, you have probably lost track of what day it is by now.) I am here today to share my latest design team project - a fun mixed media scrapbook layout featuring the 'Happily Ever After' collection and a photo of my hubby and I.

I started my page by creating my background on a sheet of white cardstock. (I used Bazzill Marshmallow so that it could handle the wet media.) First, I applied some Colour Blast Colour Artist Inks - 'Cranberry', followed by 'Slipper'. I added some extra water to move them freely around the page and help them to blend. I then dried it off with a heat gun before going back and splattering clean water over the top with a brush to take out some colour; leaving it to sit for a minute before soaking it up with some paper towel.

I then added some Flutter Colour paints - a touch of Cotton Candy Pink, as well as Sunshine Yellow; which I spread randomly on top with a brayer. After that had dried, I went back with some Arctic White and brayered some (more heavily this time) to pull the colour right back where my photo was going to be placed.

For the final layer in my background, I wanted to add some subtle detail and texture, so I used  the 'Happily Ever After' stencil with Colour Blast 'Snow White' Colour Paste before setting it aside to dry thoroughly. 

Look at the gorgeous shimmer...

With my background complete, it was time to add some papery layers on top. I used 'Happily Ever After' Everyday Etc filler cards, cut into various sized pieces to create a layered photo mat before adding my photo on top. I also tucked one of the coordinating 'Happily Ever After' page tabs in behind my photo and secured it with a staple.

I used some torn pieces of the lip printed washi tape from the 'Happily Ever After' Kit - placing my "kisses" randomly around my page. The title piece for my page - this is us documented was cut from one of the 'Happily Ever After' Everyday Etc cards.

I used a variety of heart stickers from the 'Happily Ever After' Sticky Quotes sheet scattered around the page. Also from the same sheet was the you+me=love sticker, which I popped up on some foam tape next to my photo, along with the for ever and ever banner. 

I love adding elements directly onto my photos. Here I added the together sticker in the corner of my photo, and then the you+me phrase sticker below it. (The Sticky Quote sheets always have a great variety of stickers to use, and they stretch a long way too!)

The final embellishment I added was the you are the bacon to my eggs flair button from the 'Happily Ever After' Flair Button Set 1. 

To finish my page I added a few small splatters of blue mist and I was done.

Beach Vibes | Sue Plumb

Sue Plumb here to share my latest design team project with you featuring the awesome 'Good Vibes Only' collection that was recently released. 

We have been enjoying the last remnants of summer here in Qld this week, so I thought it was only fitting to go back and scrap some of my fave summer photos of my kids.

I started this page by laying down some watercolour for my background. I used Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Sprays in blue and gold, which I applied using the packaging technique. I then added some stamping over the top using grey ink and a crackle effect stamp from Viva Las VegaStamps. I also added some tiny splatters of orange ink to bring a little warmth and contrast.

Once my background was dry, it was time to add some papery layers. I used a variety of the 'Good Vibes Only' Everyday Etc filler cards, which I cut into various sized pieces and layered together to form a mat for my photos. I also added a page tab (from the Kraft Notes 5 sheet); torn pieces of washi tape (which comes in the 'Good Vibes Only' Kit); snippets of white punchinella and some frayed gauze; before adding my photos on top.

To create my title, I used several pieces from the 'Good Vibes Only' Wood Veneer Bits pack, as well as a white Tiny Sticky Quote.

I added the wild barefoot & free sticker from the 'Good Vibes Only' Sticky Quote sheet directly to my photo, using some foam tape to pop it up a bit. Underneath the edge of my photo, I added a DIY heart from Charms Creations, topped with a starfish from the wood veneer bits pack.

To balance out my design, I added a wood veneer pineapple and another small starfish to the left side of my photos. I also added another couple of white Tiny Sticky Quotes to my page.

To finish off my page, I decided it need more teal colour brought into it; so I used a Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Cube to add some areas of colour, as well as some extra splatters around the page.  

I then added a few small teal coloured hearts from the Rainbow Heart sticker sheet; stamped a couple of phrases and the date and I was done.

Barefoot + Free by Allara Bamforth

Hello!

Excited to back on the Flutterby Blog this month with the fabulous new 'Good Vibes' collection. I attended a scrapbooking retreat last weekend and was so thrilled to be able to whip out so many pages with this collection because it is so fun and versatile.

I have some beautiful beach photos from our holiday in January and have used this next one in particular as the water at the beach was the most amazing aqua I had ever seen! I really wanted to incorporate these colours into my layout.

I've selected a 12 x 12 watercolour paper base page - as I like how the dylusions inks and lindy's gang inks sit and flow on it and covered the left hand side with clear transparent gloss medium of the new Aloha Stencil. I picked some of my favourite colours to complement the photo from the above mentioned inks.

I have used some Flutterby Paint to sponge throught the Aloha stencil to create some extra accents. Then I've used a variety of embellishments from the Good Vibes collection as listed below.

I Am a Queen | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!

Sue Plumb here to share another design team project with you. Today I have a mixed media scrapbook layout I created using the 'We Run the World' collection; and a selfie I took after spending the day doing demos on the Colour Blast stand at Craft Alive back in November. (I had smurf hands, even after a scrub! haha)

I knew which quote was going to be used as my feature, so started by creating a watercolour style background to match using Colour Artist Inks from Colour Blast and stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps. This defined my focal area, whilst leaving plenty of white space for the eye to rest.

I then added my quote, cut from one of the Everyday Etc cards from the 'We Run the World' collection. I also used a couple of narrow strips from one of the coordinating filler cards to define the focal line from which the rest of the layout was going to be structured. Underneath the quote, I added a torn strip from another of the filler cards; and phrase sticker from the white tiny sticky quote sheet.

I then added my photo, which I cut away from the background and then mounted on some scrap cardboard before sticking it down. I added the wood veneer crown and the this is me quote (both from the 'We Run the World' wood veneer set). I also added the note speech bubble from the Speech Bubbles 2 Photo Cut Out. (These are awesome for adding that little bit of extra personality to a page and you get several per sheet.)

Next, it was time to add something to the to of my page, as it was looking very "bottom heavy" at this stage and I wanted to balance it out. I took another strip torn from the black & white striped filler card; as well as the she is cut from one of the white sticky quotes. I paired it with the words confident and bad ass from another one of the 'We Run the World' Everyday Etc cards; and the strong wood veneer from the coordinating set. The crown sticker came from the WRTW Sticky Quotes sheet.

To finish off, I added another couple of torn strips of the black and white striped filler card along the bottom edge of my page; as well as a white sticky quote and a flair button. (This high five one I used was from set #306.)

Together We Can Rock the World | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone! 

Sue Plumb here today to share my latest design team page with you using the recently released 'We Run the World' collection. This page features a photo of my sister that was taken last year on a theme night at a scrapbooking retreat. (When we dress up, we ALWAYS commit!)

I started this page using the 'Connie' paper from the 'We Run the World' 12x12" paper pack. Because the paper had such a bold pattern, I used a little 'Arctic White' Flutter Colour paint to tone the pattern down in the centre of my page first. I then gathered together a few different 'We Run the World' Everyday Etc filler cards, which I cut and placed over the paint to create a layered photo mat.

After I had my mat in place, I added one of the tabs from the 'We Run the World' Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack; before sticking my photo on top. I then used a Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Cube to add some watercolour highlights around the edges of my mat.

To the right of my photo, I added the quote from one of the 'We Run the World' Everyday Etc cards, which also served as my title. Above the quote I added the camera sticker which came from the 'Mad About You' Sticky Quotes sheet; and a heart sticker from the 'We Run the World' set. (I popped the heart on a bit of foam tape to give it some dimension.)

Below my photo I added more stickers from the 'We Run the World' collection; before scattering a few tiny hearts from the same sheet around my page. To finish off, I added some splatters of Colour Blast 'Love' Colour Spray. (I found it challenging to keep myself from adding more embellishments, but as the paper pattern was so bold I didn't think it needed any.)

Sue Plumb here today to share my latest design team project with you. 

Today I have a 12x12" mixed media page I created using the 'Any Direction' collection. This range was released some time ago, and it's perfect for travel and adventure photos - just like these (insane) shots of my hubby mountain climbing recently. 

You may remember my page with the watercolour background I shared in my last post? (You can find it here) I was still feeling the watercolour vibe, and the map card in this collection inspired me to create another. I started by adding some texture paste around my page using my 'Bubble O'Fun' stencil, then used Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dusts to create the gorgeous mixed blues and greens background.

I used a combination of Everyday Etc cards from 'Any Direction', along with some assorted filler cards from other collections to create a layered photo mat. I also added the explore wood veneer for my title. 

I also added a couple of tabs above my photos - holy shitballs from the recent Sentence Enhancers page tabs; and I do all my own stunts from the bright tabs #1. To help highlight my photos, I used a small green frame from the 'Mad About You' photo cut out, which I cut in half and tucked under either side. Alongside my photo I added a wood veneer geotag as well.

Beneath my photo, was the feature quote card replace fear of the unknown with curiosity. This couldn't have been a more perfect card for this page. Not only does it feature a picture of mountains; but my hubby was (until recently) afraid of heights! (And look at him now scaling the sides of mountains with no ropes!)

I highlighted the quote by adding a Charms Creations arrow, which I topped with the live your life flair button (from set #171). I also added some of my fave 'Confetti Circles' wood veneers.

To finish off, I stamped the word adventure around my page and splattered a bit of mist about.

Hi Flutterby peeps! 

Sue Plumb here with you today to share my latest design team project using the fabulous 'Flawsome' collection. For this page, I was inspired by the quote card perfection is like the unicorn. magical. mythical. and the gorgeous watercolour background on the card.

Of course, I had to create my own watercolour background to match; so I started with my 'Macaroon 5' stencil and I applied some texture paste around my page. Next, I used a combination of Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dusts to match the beautiful colours on the Everyday Etc card. 

Once my background had dried, I then gathered together some of the 'Flawsome' Everyday Etc filler cards and I cut and layered them together to form my photo mat. I also added a coordinating page tab; a Photo Cut Out tab; some frayed gauze and messy cotton thread. For my page title, I used the be happy wood veneer (that I had painted blue) from the 'Flawsome' wood veneer pack; which I then layered over the yourself die cut from the Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack.

I added the Everyday Etc quote card alongside my photo. On top of the card I added the you are enough tiny sticky quote sticker, then one of the 'Flawsome' flair buttons. 

To finish off my page, I added a few die cut hearts from the Bits & Bobs pack; and some torn pieces of Jane Davenport washi tape.
