Dec 25 Christmas Cheer | Belinda Spencer

Hello Flutterby Designs fans!!

Belinda here today to share my very first projects for the new year featuring the awesome Fair Dinkum Chrissy collection. I am so very happy to be back for another year of scrappy fun at Flutterby Designs and I am very grateful to Anita for having me back. I am so looking forward to creating alongside the new team of awesomeness.

Anyway, onto the shares!

My little family and I quite often head to the beach on Christmas Day so this is just the perfect range to scrap our family beach Christmas tradition.

'Dec 25' Layout

For this layout I was really drawn to all of the gorgeous silver elements in the Die Cut Bits & Bobs as well as the filler photo cards. I especially couldn't wait to use the stunning silver glitter acrylic 'Dec 25'. I swiped some silver acrylic ink across my white card stock base and let that dry before adding a little stamping. I flicked some of the silver ink as well as black and white Posca Pen paint over the background too.

I kept my colour scheme simple by using neutral black, white and silver. This colour scheme really made my darling daughter's red Christmas dress pop in the photo.

I created lots of layers as always with messy embroidery thread, page tabs, wood veneer and die cut elements.

I coloured the wood veneer with the black and white Posca Pens.

Here's what I used:
- Acrylic Title

To keep things fair, I have also scrapped a photo of my sweet son from the same Christmas Day at the beach.

'Christmas Cheer' Layout

For this layout I have reverted to type and used my very favourite Tropicana Teal Flutter Colour Paint diluted to a watercolour consistency on my background. I swiped some texture paste through the Bubble O' Fun Mini Stencil to add some dimension and interest.

I cropped some of the Filler Photo Cards to create the layers under my photo but that beach scene one is my absolute favourite so I just had to use the whole thing.

I finished off with some twine, wood veneer bits, flair button, page tabs and some cute stars that I fussy cut.

Here's what I used:

Well I hope you have been inspired by my first projects for 2018. Have you had a chance to scrap some Christmas photos yet with this fabo range? Please remember to add your awesome layouts to the Flutterby Inspiration HQ group. I really love to see what you have made.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheers

Explore | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
Sue Plumb here today to share my latest design team project with you.
Today I have a 12x12" mixed media page I created using the 'Any Direction' collection. This range was released some time ago, and it's perfect for travel and adventure photos - just like these (insane) shots of my hubby mountain climbing recently.

You may remember my page with the watercolour background I shared in my last post? (You can find it here) I was still feeling the watercolour vibe, and the map card in this collection inspired me to create another. I started by adding some texture paste around my page using my 'Bubble O'Fun' stencil, then used Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dusts to create the gorgeous mixed blues and greens background.

I used a combination of Everyday Etc cards from 'Any Direction', along with some assorted filler cards from other collections to create a layered photo mat. I also added the explore wood veneer for my title.

I also added a couple of tabs above my photos - holy shitballs from the recent Sentence Enhancers page tabs; and I do all my own stunts from the bright tabs #1. To help highlight my photos, I used a small green frame from the 'Mad About You' photo cut out, which I cut in half and tucked under either side. Alongside my photo I added a wood veneer geotag as well.

Beneath my photo, was the feature quote card replace fear of the unknown with curiosity. This couldn't have been a more perfect card for this page. Not only does it feature a picture of mountains; but my hubby was (until recently) afraid of heights! (And look at him now scaling the sides of mountains with no ropes!)

I highlighted the quote by adding a Charms Creations arrow, which I topped with the live your life flair button (from set #171). I also added some of my fave 'Confetti Circles' wood veneers.
To finish off, I stamped the word adventure around my page and splattered a bit of mist about.
If you have some travel photos to scrap that you haven't gotten around to yet, make sure you check out the 'Any Direction' collection

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this with you. I'll be back again in a couple of weeks time with another project to share. Until then, happy scrapping!

Create Art | Belinda Spencer

Hey Flutterby peeps!!

Belinda here today to share a big, bold and bright layout featuring the totally awesome Flawsome range.

'Create Art'

I began my layout by adding some Flutter Colour paint directly to my background kraft cardstock and swiping it with a folded over bit of cardstock. Once dry I added some patterned detail using the 'Bubble O' Fun' and 'On the Plus Side' Stencil. I stencilled on some words too using the 'Words of Wisdom' Stencil and a black journalling pen.

I added lots of layers under my photo using some Everyday Etc Filler Photo Cards, Page Tabs, embroidery thread and some chipboard from my own stash.

I painted my chipboard pieces using the gorgeous Grape Soda paint. Love that colour! Plus it is such a luscious paint that it covers the chipboard really well.

I added some sticky quotes and enamel dots too for extra interest.

FLAWSOME Collection:
STENCILS:
- Grape Soda
- Sunshine Yellow
- Tropicana Teal
Flair Button

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my layout today.

Kick Ass | Sue Plumb

Hi Flutterby peeps!
Sue Plumb here with you today to share another of my Flutterby projects with you. This page holds a special place in my heart. It features a photo of five members from the current kick ass Flutterby Designs DT, and was taken when we got together at the recent 'Create by the Lake' retreat. I thought it was the perfect subject to pair with the recently released 'Flawsome' collection.

I started this page with a black cardstock background, which I swiped with some 'Tropicana Teal' and 'Green Limousine' Flutter Colour paints.

Then I gathered together some of the 'Flawsome' Everyday Etc filler cards, which I layered together to form a mat for my photo, and topped with some frayed gauze.

I then added some dimension to my page using the 'Bubble O'Fun' stencil and some Colour Blast Colour Paste.

I used the kick ass 'Flawsome' Everyday Etc card for my title, which I tucked alongside my photo, then added one of the white Sticky Quotes on top of it. I also added a coordinating Page Tab tucked in behind my photo.

I created my sub title using one of the coordinating 'Flawsome' wood veneer pieces, which I coloured with a Posca pen; added some alpha stickers, and the 'Flutterby' logo (cut from the edge of a Page Tabs sheet.

To embellish my page I added a flair button; some twisted coloured wire (attached with staples); and a few black Tiny Sticky Quotes.

I finished off with some white gel pen doodling, my handwritten journaling and some splattered white ink spray.

Thanks so much for stopping by today so I could share this with you. I will be back again in a couple of weeks with another project. Until then, happy scrapping!

My best work l Tamara Buckler

Hey Hey, Happy Friday!!

I don't know about you, but I often feel like I have so much to learn, and there are so many new things to try, in our arty farty scrappy world. Over the past few weeks, I have been trying to use paint differently on my layouts, including using some different brushes and textures, to create different effects. Some of them have been total disasters, and some have worked out surprisingly well!

Today, I'm sharing with you one such layout. I started this page with a wide bristle paint brush and some paint (including our awesome Flutter Colour Paint) and wanted to create a grid like pattern. I wasn't overly happy with this effect, but kept working on it and added some texture paste through the Bubble-O-Fun stencil... getting better. I then decided to grunge it up and squirted the Black Mayhem Flutter Colour Paint up and down the page, and added some ink splatters. Much better! I love the contrast and the texture!

The photo that I wanted to use on this page was also a very busy one, so I didn't want add to much more colour and texture to the layout. I matted the photo on some vellum and raised it up on some kids foam. I fussy cut 'art' from a Creative Chaos Everyday Etc card, and placed it in the white space of my pic, I love the way this looks!

And then because I had so much going on, I went very minimal with the embellishments. Just a few Purple Sticky Alphas in my title, and a small cluster with a flair, a die cut and a snippet strip.

This pic of my fam bam makes me laugh! We discovered these giant furry walls at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, and it always make me think of the movie 'Get him to the Greek'. Have you seen that one? So funny!

I'm not sure what it is about a giant furry wall that makes it art, but I guess the same could be said about my scrapbook pages! But, at the end of the day, I think they are art, and I guess that's really all the matters!

Anyways, I hope you've all had a fun week and have some scrappy time planned for the weekend!

Big Loves,
Tam x
