You Rock - Allara Bamforth

Hello!

I'm up on the blog again today with a mish mash of fabulous Flutterby Goodies for a page I created with a photo from a recent concert I attended at Roche Estate in the Hunter Valley to see the band LIVE . It was their renuion tour and I have seen them plenty of times over the last 20 years and they were still fantastic as ever. The rain didn't dampen our spirits - especially after a couple of Canadian Clubs :) I love this photo of my brother, husband and son in their rain ponchos (they look like Teletubbies).

Products I have used in this layout from Flutterby Designs and the link to them are as follows:

Song for Another Time Stencil
Flutter Colur Paint - Bahama Blue and Aquamarine Dream
We Run the World 12x12 Paper - Beyonce
Everyday Etc Filler Cards - Flawsome
X-treme Teen Tickets
Flawsome Die-cuts Bibs and Bobs
Flawsome page tabs
Wood Veneer Bits
Blackboard Sticky Quick Quotes

Thanks for stopping by the blog. Make sure you stop by the shop and stock up on some fabulous goodies.

Till next post,

Allara xx

Everyday Life | Krisy Podolak

Hi, Can you believe it is almost Christmas?!?  This layout is throwing back to Mother's Day just because that is how I work.  There is no real order in what I do.  I just make stuff when I feel like it.

This layout started off looking a lot different.  It was pink and gold but then I didn't like it and changed it up a bit.  I looked at the embellishments I wanted to use and decided to draw inspiration from that little grey flair button.  So I drew some lines, pulled out my gelatos and changed up the whole colour scheme.  You can still see a bit of the pink poking through but that it all part of the process right.

Once I had painted my background I layered everything else over the top starting with the placement of my photo and working around that.

I used a fussy cut "Everyday Life" from the Midnight range that I had used the border frame for another layout as my title and added some Tiny Word Snippets.  I left the title white so it would stand out against the grey, gold (I {heart} you stencil) and mucky olive colour of the background.

This is the flair that was the inspiration behind the whole layout....I propped it up on a Charms Creations DIY heart that I altered in the same colours of the background to make the flair button really stand out.

Act like a lady, Lift like a BOSS | Krisy Podolak

Hi Lovelies,
It's Krisy back again today.  I gave you a bit of a break earlier in the month of the "No Excuses" range but today I am back with another layout using this range.  This time it is a photo of my friend, Sarah.  If you follow my blog I have spoken of Sarah before.  But the short of it is, Sarah and I were best friends at high school that drifted apart and reconnected earlier this year.  I was in the beginning stages of my exercise routine and Sarah had a change in life circumstances that meant she had to start getting serious about her fitness.  She had started in Crossfit and I was looking to step up my exercise routine and was curious so I decided to give it a go too.

We don't train together all the time.  Being a mum and having to work around when my husband is home means I have to go when he is home to watch the kids so sometimes that means 5am and sometimes that is 9.15 or 5.30.  I love it when Sarah and I do train together.  We push each other.  I am a bit better in the cardio side of things - especially running but she is way better at the heavy lifting than me.  This is a photo I took of her to remind her how far she has come.  Six months ago we would both have struggled to lift this weight.  With any exercise you have to remember you are in control well actually your mind is in control.  You mind tells your body what to do.  SO, if you are strong in your mind you will achieve more.

This is my layout....
It is very mixed media.

To start, I created my background using the You Got This stencil and Impasto paste.  Impasto is very much like texture paste only it isn't white and drys opaque.

Over the top I splattered, sprayed, dribbled and painted on some Bubblegum Colour Blast Colour Spray.  Once it was dry, I added my photo and some Snippet Strips words.  I used the orange as it worked well with the photo (the wood has an orangey tinge with the crappy lights at the box) and plus the flair button I wanted to use was orange.

Once the photo was in place, I used my black marker to trace around some of the words from the background to make them stand out.  I then added some tiny details, some small roller stamped words, some black sequins, a hot pink Charms Creations Diamond and some orange thread (to bring in a little more orange).

Finally, I added some page tabs along the top of the photo. I edited the photo in an app to include the "Act like a lady, Lift like a Boss" words as I had sent this photo to Sarah after that particular work out and I knew she had been struggling for motivation.  Once you can see the changes from the outside, sometimes you see things a little different from the inside. Change takes time and persistence.

"Water Fountain" by Sharmaine Kruijver

I pulled out my Flutterby goodies and created this page to share with you today.

Yes, would you believe it
Another summer related page.
Seriously!

Finding relevant photo tabs was not a problem for this page

Nor was it hard to find the BESTEST flair for the page.

I also used my circle punch with an Everyday Etc card
To add another "circular thing" to that cluster.
Did you see it??

I also cut an Everyday Etc card into strips

& used them to mimic washi tape.
I also used enamel dots, sticky quotes and photo cut outs
All from Flutterby Designs.

Home is where the Heart is | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies, Today I am taking a break from the "No Excuses" Range and am sharing a layout I created using the "Happy Together" Collection This layout came about by accident, not planned in any way it just happened and turned out pretty good.

For the background I have used a triangle of paper from the Cocoa Vanilla Range "Totally Rad".  The colours worked so well with the light blue Flutter Colour paint.  So, I used the "smooching" technique and added some colour to the background. Once it was dry, I added some modelling paste through the I {heart} stencil.  This give a nice detail.  I also added a bit of dark blue in the same smooching technique and used up any extra paint my flicking it on to the page.

The photo is a selfie of my little family at Easter time.  The photo is not straight so I used this as a focal point and it also ties in the diagonal line of the triangle background piece of paper.  Behind that I have used one of the book pages from the "Wild Bohemian" Everyday Etc cards and tore it into strips and used it as a matte.  I didn't want it to be a focal point hence the strips rather than a solid matte.  Over the top of the matte, I added a cambridge paper lace doily to soften the background a bit.  Then I fussy cut another Everyday Etc card from the "Happy Together" Range to use as my title.  I used some of the small word Snippets to add around the page as this is bang on trend at the moment and finished it off with a Charms Creations blue chevron and a Flutterby Designs Flair button.

I also used some gold chevron stickers to help draw the eye in and for a little bit of bling amongst all the blue.

For even more detail, I added some heart stickers in the light blue and some pink and blue enamel dots.  To tie in the dark lines around the title, I doodled around the enamel dots, heart stickers and snippets. For a bit of "Neet" detail, I faux stitched around the border with my black marker and around the triangle of paper on the background.

And that's it.  The hardest part of this layout was fussy cutting the title.  I don't know how all you fussy cutters enjoy that process.  I think it's a bit of an old school technique that is making a comeback...What do you think?  I think it takes a lot of patience and of that I have not much but it does look fantastic.  I think I am going to try and incorporate it a little more into my layouts.

June shares from the Boss Lady ;)

Hi hi Flutterby Fans!!
It's the boss lady here - I thought it was time
I popped in & shared a few projects I've created
over the last several weeks. I've just started retreating again... & I LOVE being able to let my hair down & create with my people. Nothing better than having sore ab
muscles from being bent over laughing for so long.

'Hello Beautiful'

I've used the new 'Partners In Crime' collection.
I loved this sheet of Cocoa Vanilla Studio paper &
it looked like the perfect starting point. I've gone in
with some gesso & my Flutter Colour paints swooshes.
I then began piecing & layering the Everyday Etc cards
with my photo.

Finishing up with some doodling, Circle & Confetti Circles wood veneers, Flair button, Teal Sticky Snippets, Enamel dots & Partners In Crime Page Tabs. I've also used
a Charm's Creation Mini Heart.

This cool monochrome layout I created at a my first
retreat away from Evie (who turned 1 the day before LOL). I've started with a mixed media base.
I've used the 'I {heart} You' stencil with some glass
bead gel, plus some Flutter Colour paint, gesso & a bit
of Colour Blast paste. With a simple bit of layering, flair button, Page Tabs, doodling & title - it's done!
