Simple cooking with simple ingredients
Can result in something delicious.
Scrapbooking is the same.
Taking a handful of Flutterby goodies
And it makes a page yum-a-licious!

For this page I simply added some wood bits, flair and enamel dots,

Cut out some Everyday Etc cards
(I used the "Any Direction" range)

And added some "Sticky Quotes".

Just Me by Kylie Cornish

I find sometimes being a scrapbooker, I forget to scrap about myself.
I know that I am not the only one.
We are always the one behind the camera.
But not today, today I was looking fine.
A trip to the hairdresser had revived this tired chick!
It was selfie time!

Be Bold | Sue Plumb

Hi Flutterby peeps!
Sue Plumb here with you to share my latest creation for Flutterby Designs. Today I have a 12x12" mixed media layout that features a photo of my cheeky boys showing me their "tattoos" that they had drawn on each other with textas.

I was inspired to create a messy mixed media background for this layout to fit with the "art" theme of my photo. I also wanted to draw in the paint splotch design from the Everyday Etc card (from the No Excuses range) that I chosen to use as the feature behind my photo.

To create my background, I used several different colours of Flutter Colour paint. I wanted the paint to splatter easily, so I watered it down slightly to make it thinner. Then I set about applying each colour by splattering and flicking it onto my page using a paint brush. In order to make sure I didn't make "mud", I dried each colour thoroughly before applying the next one. After it was dry I also added some stamping with black ink to give the background more depth and character.

As I already mentioned, I used an Everyday Etc card from the No Excuses range behind my photo. I also used another card from the same range to fussy cut my Be Bold title from. As there was no purple on my background, I wanted to add some purple elements to help tie in with colours in the title. So I used one of the coordinating No Excuses Filler Cards and cut it up to add the purple I needed.

Next, I added a flair button (from set #229), which I nested on some messy black cotton thread; and one of the Blackboard Sticky Quotes below my photo. I also added a couple of Snippet Strips around my page.

I then added a few Confetti Circles wood veneer pieces, which I coloured black with my trusty Posca pen and some neon enamel dots.

A few splatters of purple mist and some quick journaling and I was finished.

Thanks for stopping by so I could share this page with you. I will be back in a couple of weeks with another project to share. Until then, happy scrapping! X

Scrap Moles | Krisy Podolak

Right, before you think I'm being nasty and using the word "Mole" in my title and especially when talking about people, I am not!  "Scrap moles" is an affectionate term amongst us Australian Scrappers.  When we believe that we have found our "tribe" we refer to them as our moles.  Well, maybe not everyone does but my "tribe" does.  To be included in this term is endearing, it is not used in a derogatory way.  This is some of my "tribe".  It took a long while to find them but I am so glad I did.

This layout is a mixed media one that drew inspiration from one of the "Partners in Crime" Everyday Etc Cards.  You will see it poking out from behind the photo. I used the inspiration to make a background using inks, paints and stencils.  This layout is really all about the background  There is not much over the top of it really.

I started of with Colour Blast Colour Sprays in Bubblegum and Road Base and then over the top I added some Yellow Flutter Colour paint through a Tim Holtz Harlequin stencil.  Once it was dry I added some texture stamping using black Stayzon Ink.  Then I used the same stencil to trace some shapes over the colour of the background.

Once I was happy with my base, I used the Turquoise Blue Flutter Paint to run some swirls around the page by squeezing the paint directly from the bottle.  I also painted a wood veneer I had made by the talented Corbett Creations to help me capture my tribes words.  I then used another Everyday Etc card from the "Partners in Crime" range and used it as my journaling on the page.

For some final details I added some Snippet words, enamel dots and a Charms Creations blue chevron that matches the turquoise Flutter Colour paint perfectly.  And yes there is a bit of blue paint on the photo but I have said it before it is all part of the creative process and it is going in my albums so who cares.  I can always print another photo later if I want to.

Awesome Chic by Lauren Hender

Hello Everyone!

Late night blogging here tonight. I have had such a big week and am looking forward to setting myself up for a creative weekend.

Tonight I am sharing a mixed media layout using Flutterby Designs
Cut Files
Stencils
Tags
Enamel dots and a
Flair

I began by building my background. I used some white texture paste, stencil and water colour paints.

I then added the circle cut files, tags and photo. I added an additional Flutterby cut file in top of the photo to highlight the photo feature ..me and Neet of course.

Next I added the cut file heading, some thickers, tags to journal on, some enamel dots and a flair.

I love this layout not only because of the fabulous products I've used but the featured memory I have with Anita and special friend.

Take Care!

"Hello BatDad" by Sharmaine Kruijver

Some say you shouldn't play favourites
But when it comes to Flutterby I think I will always know who I love best.
Flutterby Designs Wood Veneers and Flair Buttons will always be the standout for me.
So rather than fight it I went with my favourites and created this page.

My love of wood veneer comes from, I think, the fact it is so simple to alter.

A quick lick of paint, nail polish or sharpie pen
And you've customised it to suit any page.

Flair... oh how I love thee.
No clue why but I just love it!

Please tell me I am not alone in the adoration of these cute little things.

So what are your favourites??
Be brave and embrace them,
But shhh don't let the other scrappy supplies know.
They might get jealous!

Selfie by Kylie Cornish

Life sometimes can gets so busy, and specially now that I have become a working mum as my children are getting older. I don't always get the chance to do all the family things we use to do, and I don't have my camera out all the time.
Which can be sad for a scrapper that wants to scrap photos of her kids growing up, changing, evolving.
But the one thing I do have is their friendship on their social media, and now thanks to that, they record their own journey and mum just every now and then pinches that quick snap they take to add to their scrapbook album.

This layout is of my youngest who has an obsession with Instagram and thanks to a quick screen shot I can have a physical copy of a selfie just like that.

So my handy parental tip for mums that think they may miss out on moments in their older kids lives, be their friend on social media watch over them as you would their every day lives and you can still see them evolve and change into the person they will become, and you can still document it along the way.
