One Spoilt Cat | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
Sue here with you today to share another layout featuring the brand new 'Fur-ever Friends' collection (and my new kitty too!) As with all Flutterby collections, I just love the bright, fun colours in this one; which makes it perfect for creating layouts about those furry or feathered members of the family.

I started this page by adding some subtle texture and colour to my newsprint patterned paper. I used the new Bubble O'Fun stencil to first add some texture paste to random areas of my paper, then used a few drops of Flutter Colour paint added to some water to add some light colour to the textured areas. I then drizzled some white Flutter Colour paint over the top.

I created a mat for my photo by layering together several of the Fur-ever Friends Filler Cards; and then fussy cut the spoilt cat portion of my title from one of the Fur-ever Friends Everyday Etc Cards. The remainder of my title was created using some die cut pieces from the Mad About You Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack; some printed words; alphabet stickers and a word sticker from the Fur-ever Friends Sticky Quotes sheet. (The cute little cat is from the Sticky Quotes sheet as well.) Tucked in amongst the layers under my photo was also a spoilt page tab from the Fur-ever Friends Page Tabs.

Underneath my photo I layered one of the new Fur-ever Friends wood veneer frames, along with some messy black cotton thread. I then added a flair button from the Fur-ever Friends - Cat set directly onto my photo and popped one of the black Tiny Sticky Quotes beneath my photo.

To tie in with the wood veneer frame I had used, I also added some wood veneer small hearts around my page. The small embellishment cluster at the bottom of my page included one; along with a die cut from the Fur-ever Friends Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack and another black Tiny Sticky Quote.

To finish my page, I added some stamping; black mist splatters and a quick line of journaling.

If you haven't got your hands on any of the newest products yet, make sure you head over to the Flutterby Designs store HERE and check out the new range! (There is even a Fur-ever Friends kit that includes some kit exclusives!)
I will be back in a couple of weeks with another project to share with you. Until then, happy scrapping!

Purr-fect.... Black cat love.

As far as crazy cat ladies go, I am definitely in the running to win that award... I collect black cats, and we currently have 4 fur babies... Skinny, Ninja Kitty, Zeusy and Obi... when I saw this new range I wont lie, I did a little imaginary fist pump, it was made for me!

Here is my first layout featuring our only girl kitty, Ninja. She gets her name because she is literally the most stealth-y-ist cat ever. She comes and goes as she pleases and you would never even know she is there. She not to most affectionate cat, having been rescued from under a neighbours house as stray at a few months of age. But she will come and give random night snuggles, and your know when she just needs some love...

Ive used the 'Fur-ever Friends' Everyday Etc Cards as well as the 'Fur- Ever Friends' Filler cards as the bones of my layout, and utilised the 'Fur-ever Friends' Sticky Quotes as my matching embellishments.

Have you got your hands in this range yet??

Love ya guts, with Ros Madley

Hi everyone.  My page today features the gorgeous Wild Bohemian Everyday Etc Filler cards.   This is one of my fave ever collections.  Awesome colours and the patterns.
My background started with a little stamping and water colours.

I love a lot of 'white space' on a layout and this collection is perfect for these types of pages.  Lots of little elements that can be cut out.
I've cut little chevrons, some stitching and a black arrow and layered them in a little photo stack.

On top of the cluster I have used another fave, Love ya guts flair button.  I am a little in love with this button.  There's a cute little Page Tab poking out the top.

My layout has been finished off with a little cluster down the bottom corner to balance my page.  Again I have just used elements cut from the filler cards and spread a few enamel dots around my page.

Hope you've been inspired.

Purr-fect Stalker

Hello!!

Belinda here today to share two layouts I have created with the brand new, totally fabulous FUR-EVER FRIENDS collection.

The colours in this collection are so vibrant and bright and a perfect match for the brilliant new Flutter Colour paints! I have had my very first play with these paints and I am super impressed with the results.

Here's my first layout.

'Purr-fect Love' Layout

I started by applying some molding paste through the I {heart} You Mini Stencil. I repeated this until I had enough stencil work to be visible around my central photo area.

Next I chose paints to co-ordinate with the photo cards I was going to use and diluted each one with some water. I spritzed my layout with water around the stenciled area and then flicked the colour over this area using a soft, wet paintbrush.

Next, I cropped my photo cards and played around with the arrangement until I was happy. A quick staple or two held everything together so I could add it quickly to my background without anything shifting. I love using staples this way because I know (from experience) that if I take it apart to add tape to the back I will never get it back the same way. LOL

Next I layered on some messy strands of embroidery thread, my photo and all embellishments.

I created my title by fussy cutting the 'purr-fect' from a photo card. I also cut apart the wood veneer 'Hello Love' so that I could use the 'Love'. I haven't wasted the 'Hello' part though! Scroll down to see how I used that. :-)

Here's what I used:

FUR-EVER FRIENDS:

- Arctic White
- Grape Soda
- Green limousine
- Tropicana Teal

And now for something a little more on the dark side.

'Hello Stalker' Layout

I love this photo of my Burmese cat, Noodle, giving me stink eye through the hole in her activity centre. She is the sweetest natured cat but always manages to look feral in photos.

Check out how beautifully bright the Flutter Colour paints are on the dark background!! And that is after I watered them down for a more watercolour effect. Pretty cool huh?

I created a wash of colour over my background and then splattered a lot of colour over it too using a soft wet paintbrush.

Then I added a little detail with the gorgeous NEW Shake Your Tail Feather Stencil and some molding paste.

Next I layered on my cropped photo cards, photo, embellishments and title. And there is the 'Hello' from the 'Hello Love' Wood Veneer that I cut in half. I couldn't resist using the cheeky quote cut from the photo cards too.

Here's what I used:

FUR-EVER FRIENDS:

- Orange Goldfish
- Raspberry Punch
- Sunshine Yellow

I hope you love this collection as much as I do and feel inspired to scrap your own furry friends. I have lots more to come so keep an eye out for my next post later this month.

Cheers
Belinda

Cheers You Did It! | Lauren Hender

Thank you for stopping by the Flutterby Designs blog today but I have to warm you.. you may just fall off your chair.
Yes, you are seeing it now.. I, yes Me.. Lauren Hender has just done a full on mixed media layout! I know, how living on the edge, pushing the boundaries, on the wild side of me. But when you are playing with the brand new Flutterby Designs paint collection you just want to go crazy the colours are that fabulous.

I began creating this layout by painting my background with a blend of the teal and the purple paint. At this point I thought 'well this looks weird' but I kept going.

I then took out my Flutterby stencils and went to town with the white, green and purple paints.

I then accented the stencil features using a black pen.

I created a cluster around my photo to help it pop off the page. When you have a busy background photos can sometimes get lost, so we need to give them some pop.

I love this wood veneer frame and hearts, it adds a different texture to the layout and gives that pop that I am looking for.

So lets go shopping...

I hope that I have inspired you to get creative, push the boundaries and most importantly have fun while you are doing it.

Lauren xoxo

Annoying Husband | Krisy Podolak

Hi Flutterby Lovelies,
Krisy back today to share another layout featuring the "Mad About You" Collection.  This layout sums up exactly how I feel every single time I try and take a photo or selfie with my husband.  He is definitely FUCKING ANNOYING!

I used the Everyday Etc cards and cut them in to triangles which I then sewed into place with my sewing machine.  I used the frames from the Cut aparts to kinda frame the photo and lead your eye into the photo.  I kept the photo in black and white to stop it clashing with all the colours and patterns of the collection.  For my words, I used another Everyday Etc card and cut the words into strips.  This is my favourite way to include strips of writing whether it be pre-printed or my own typed journalling.

Here are a few close ups:

There is also a process video you can check it out on my YouTube channel - POPLEOPOD.

I'll be back later in the month with another share.

Krisy xx

Purr-fect | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
I am very excited to share this layout with you today, as it features the brand new 'Fur-ever Friends' collection and new release Flutter Colour paints! (These are scheduled for release into the Flutterby store this Sunday, 5th February at 8pm - you won't want to miss it!) This page also features my family's new kitten, Genghis.

I started this layout by creating my background using the new Flutter Colour paint set (the colours are so divine!) I used a few drops of the aqua paint in some water to create a watercolour paint, which I brushed over my cardstock using a wide brush. I then used one of the new release stencils along with some purple paint, and stippled some random bubbles onto my background. Finally, I added some splats of the new green paint over the top and left it all to dry.

Once my background was dry, I fussy cut my title from one of the Fur-ever Friends Everyday Etc cards and adhered it onto my photo. I then created a layered mat for my photo to sit on from the coordinating filler card pack. (I am not normally a purple person, but am so loving the colour combination here!)

Under my photo, I also added a frame (Frame 47 'Mad About You' Photo Cut Out), which I cut in half; a Fur-ever Friends page tab; and some messy cotton thread for texture. The tab on my photo came from the Fur-ever Friends die cut bits & bobs pack.

To add some extra dimension to my layout and to tie in with the circular theme I had going on, I also added some of my favourite wood veneer circles, which I painted with the new green paint. (How perfect is the colour match between the paint and the paper?!) Inside one of the circles I popped one of the Fur-ever Friends flair buttons (from the cat set).

Finally, it was time for me to put the finishing touches on my layout. I used the cute little paw print stickers and the meow sticker from the Fur-ever Friends Sticky Quotes sheet; some blue enamel dots (from the neon set); some stamping and black mist splatters.

I also added my handwritten journaling and a couple of white Tiny Sticky Quotes - there is no project that these stickers don't belong on! (PS - I hope you like the tongue-in-cheek way I used the meow sticker in my journaling.) ;)

So, mark it in on your calendars or set a reminder on your phone - the new release lines will go live in the Flutterby Designs store THIS SUNDAY at 8pm (that will be 7pm if you are here in Qld like me). If you have a pet (and not just dogs or cats), you are going to NEED this collection!

Til next time, happy scrapping! X
